Did a search and didn't find an answer...

Getting ready to do some work to the bike and was wondering if the OEM chain needs shortened when installing a 14 tooth sprocket on a 2010 M696? Just wondering if I should be ordering up a rivet tool.

thx... chug

Nope.

One tooth equals just shy of 16mm of overall chain length. Since you take slack from both the top and bottom chain, that means your rear wheel will have to move back 7mm and some change to keep the same tension.

Unless your chain is at the very end of its life and stretched to the max, I think you should be good.  chug

I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.
