That is a sweet looking bike. I dig the half trellis/ half twin spar frame. It looks really really clean.
Let me know about this riding thing. I have a Speed Triple that needs abusing.

BTW, any rethinking on Buttonwillow 7/6?

Yeah, I'm talking about the same place. What is their exact address?
I feel like I got a decent deal on the bike. I don't think it is the most popular bike so the buyer has a bit of an advantage. I was supposed to look at a bone stock 06 and the guy called me back and said he sold it for $3500 including a jacket and helmet.
I'm hoping to take the last few steps to make it track worthy and a bit more schvelt but that won't probably happen for a while. I don't think it would be much fun at Streets but Buttonwillow would be a good track to test it out.

Big photos for a big man!!!
The thing is silky smooth for sure. Shifts nicely and has a lot of low end grunt. Doesn't care for clutchless shifts at higher rpms but. . . Single exhaust lets out a nice grumble but not obnoxious. Heli bars make her pretty comfy too. Steel lines for the breaks and radial mount resivors which I don't think came stock.
Took it to some twisty bits yesterday for a quicky and she did ok. The previous owner did the forks up with LE valves and springs so they work pretty well. The stock shock not so much. Gonna try to get to the SV shop on the westside tomorrow and get the knobs twisted a little and see how she does after that. Probably invest in a shock futher down the line. Can't beat it for $4200 at this point.
Thanks GM for posting up my thumbnails. Bigger photos to follow!!!!!!
Weez really needs SpellCheck !

Not too lonely. I know a few guys going up, but it's always nice to meet up with DMLers.

I'm shooting for a Sunday morning for a Malibu run. Gus hasn't chimmed in yet but I'll guess I can twist his arm a bit for a canyon run. Any interest?
I'll check with the "boss" on the 6th. You bringing the hauler out there?
Went to GP cycles yesterday. Had the suspension dialed in a bit. The rear isn't confidence inspiring at this point. It was stepping out a bit before and now it wallows through the turn. The compression was alreadt full hard so not much to do at this point. New shock might be sooner then later. The conventional forks are not bad.

I picked up a Penske shock and will be waiting to track the SV until I get the schock bolted on. The CRF isn't the best tool for Buttonwillow so. . .
I'll probably wait until fall before I get on the track again at this point.

Derby,
Thanks for the offer. I won the auction and paypaled yesterday. Hoping to have it in my hand early next week. I may take you up then if the offer still stands. Also, depending on the condition it may need a rebuild. Seller says no but. . .

BD,
contact penske. iirc, they used to do one free service with their shocks.
i bought a used penske for my first racebike and they serviced it for the cost of shipping.
another good-to-know thing for people in the market for a penske: they're modular. more times than not, they'll retrofit the shock for another bike for ~$100 or so. so if you find any penske for sale cheap, there's a good chance it can be made to fit your bike for a small fee.
