Did you ever have one of those days where your ride was just perfect and you didn't expect it to be anything special? This may sound odd but today I had one of those rides on my commute in to work. I left about 8am this morning with bright skies and weather in the low 60s. I was lightly geared because of the nice weather (textile armor jacket and pants, gloves, helmet but no insulated gear that I have been wearing over the last couple of months). I left the driveway in a good mood and I didn't have anything on the calendar until 10am so I took the long way in (12 miles instead of 6). There was never anyone in front of me, the roads were smooth and clear, and the bike was handleing superbly. By the way, my bike seems like it's on rails since moving to Pilot Road 2s. My lines through corners were the best ever and I didn't even have to think about it. Shifts were perfect, brake action sublime. I wasn't going fast but I was moving quickly ("The Pace"). When I finally got to work I felt great. I wasn't expecting a commute to be so "perfect" but it for some reason it was. Hope the ride home is just as nice.

Jeez, why did you even bother to stop at the office? I would have honked as I rode by and kept on riding!! Grin [moto]

I circled the parking lot twice. Normally I go straight to my parking spot. On the second go around a student stopped me (I work at a college) and we chatted about the bike. He said the same thing. "why did you even come in on a day like this?".  Started to tell him about responsibility... Blah, blah, blah... But instead I opted for the truth.  "because I'm an idiot." we both laughed. He went to class and I went to my first meeting of the day. Next time, because of all the encouragement from this board, I'm not going in.  [moto]
