Termi's VS DP Remus?
«

Was just wondering if there was much of a difference in sound from Termis as compared to the Ducati Performance Remus pipes? Has anyone had either on there Ducati's? Cheers.

they do have a different sound...deliniating the difference is as much dependant on the bike as much as the pipe...

I'm a big Remus fan. Had them on my M900 and MTS1000, and they were fantastic.

They do have a nice "woof" about them don't they....the Remus carbon high mounts on my GF's 620 sound good for sure...

Do they still make those (the Remus DP)? If they still do I don't really see how, as Termignoni is the only Ducati Performance brand now. I know the Remus' were a bit cheaper than the Termis back in the day, but nowdays (in Europe at least) Ducati and Termi have an agreement, the Termi dealers sell exhaust for all brands
except
for Ducati. If you want Termignoni's for your Ducati, your local Ducati dealer is the only one officially authorized to sell them to you, and quite expensively.
The second best (and cheaper) alternative is Roads Italia which have a very good sound/price ratio.

I have DP Remus pipes on my Monster 1000ie. They sound great and have only one complaint about them. They're a right PIA to keep clean being polished. You only have to lean against them and you got to get the metal polish on to them.
I saw a cheap set of termi CF ones for a monster on eBay for reasonably cheap. Was just wondering if they were any louder/quieter or crisper/deeper sounding than the Remus ones.

For the sound, I think it is a subjective matter and it also greatly depends on the bike, the engine and its setup. For example, I have two friends, each with an M620. One has high-mounted underseat Termis, the other has normally "wheelbarrow" mounted Termis. Both exhausts are full CF Termignoni exhausts, but I can tell you these bikes sound different - the first one sounds crispier and racier especially on throttle return, as the second one is clearly more low-pitched, even higher in the revs.
All in all, it's a hard decision. Personally I would go for Termignoni, but it's subjective. The second choice would be Arrow, the third, Roads Italia. Regardless of your choice, be sure you go for the carbon fiber versions.

i agree that it is very subjective. the termi low growl is hard to replicate however. i now have dp megaphones and LOVE them but there is something missing on the low end rumble that termi offers so readily. listen to some youtube videos . ..
