It puts the billet aluminum on the motorcycle...

« on: March 06, 2011, 04:55:58 PM »

As much as it pained me, I finally did it. I finally let go of my cheap and sordid emotional attachments and sold the Supersport. Sure...it made me do evil things. Like the time it made me wheelie at a jaywalker and flip him off as I rolled past on one wheel. Or the time I did a gigantic stoppie in front of Dainese Dan at the D-Store. It also treated me like shit at times...blowing all four valves on a ride in Santa Cruz ($2200), making me crash on Redwood Rd (a week after I got it), seeing Ivan crash it (a week after that), and crashing in turn 11 at Infineon. But despite all the troubles, I had some incredible times. I did my first track day on that bike. I got a knee down at Thunderhill for the first time on that bike. I met Anne's dad for the first time when I rode that bike to Monterey for the classic car races. And it was a champ at those wheelie clinics we used to do. The front wheel would loft with nary a thought. I'm really going to miss that bike...

It's a good thing the bike's not going far...I even get visitation rights. That's because this crazy Italian guy is the proud new owner and will be riding it with me:

I don't get emotional attachments to things for some reason, but it sounds like the bike is going to a good owner and you had some good times on it.  What more can ya ask for?   waytogo

You sold your S4R? Did that have something to do with that new girlfriend Arif keeps telling me about?

I had a 900SS and I loved that bike.  I thought about yours, I saw one at Ace in Concord today and was ready to pull the trigger.  And it was the correct color - yellow!
A very easy, forgiving bike to hustle through Mines always finds a place in my heart.

My old 900SS knew Mines well Grin

Sell the S4R? Nah. That was in reference to the old 750.

Arif needs to talk less and sell more.

One of my goals this year is to get old Sharif Annoy to sales club.
