Hey guys,

I took apart my rear end a couple weeks ago to replace the silver swingarm on my monster.  While in there, I noticed that my ride height rod might be adjustable.  Is this rod adjustable?  Does the amount of threads showing look safe?  Any guess on how much more room I have to raise the ride height?

Howie

Yes, that is an adjustable link.  I have no way of knowing how many threads are not showing so I can't answer your second question.   Do you know if that link is OEM or aftermarket?

Pretty sure it's aftermarket.  From what I've read on the forums, the 620's came with non-adjustable units.

If you're rockin a 620, it's definitely aftermarket.  I just lengthened mine on my S2R and I don't think I had that many threads showing, but I don't think yours is a Ducati unit.  When I took the heim joint all the way out of the linkage rod, it probably had a good inch/inch and a quarter of threads on it, so if you wanted to raise the rear end on your bike, I'd say you have a good amount to play with.

One question though, does the 620 operate on the same upper rocker arm design that the S2/S4s do?  If so, you have to remember that there's a ratio and you don't have to add nearly as much length to the linkage rod as you want raise height.  I think someone mentioned 3:1, i.e.- 1/2 inch more length on the linkage rod, 1.5 inches ride height addition.

All the ST framed Monsters share the same linkage arm.

I have a similar looking link on my S4RS.  OEM recommendation for mine is no more than 5 threads showing.
