Well friends, I have sold my Monster.  There is no question that I loved this bike and it was the best possible re-introduction to motorcycling I could have had.  But I need something else to meet my needs and I can only afford one bike at a time.

This forum has been a significant part of my experience with the bike and I thank all of you that contribute here, share your knowledge, and help.  I've made some good friends here...Stu, Ryan, Carl, and Melissa particularly...and will continue to ride with them whatever I'm on.  I will still hang out here because of my friends and I guess once you have a Ducati, it stays in your blood.

I told the new owner about DMF (he owned a M900 a few years back) and strongly suggested he use this fantastic resource.

Cheers!!

whadya get Rob?

A 2001 Suzuki Bandit 1200s with less than 8K miles on it.  Still on original tires.

On order as of today:

Michelin Power 2CT front, Road 2 rear
Yoshimura muffler and mid-pipe
RaceTech Gold Valves and springs
Braided brake and clutch lines
Holeshot fork brace

Currently researching rear shocks...low budget is to go with a Hayabusa shock rebuilt and revalved with stiffer spring...slightly more expensive is a Cogent 3-way adj shock http://www.holeshot.com/bandit/cogent_shock%281200%29.html

I find it disturbing that you're imagining me in a sauna, never mind the teletubbie aspect of it

I didnt put it on the list because finding the right one requires some research...it's a very important piece of equipment and I have to make sure I get the right one for me.  And I like my triple shot espresso with five sugars and 1/2n1/2.

Nice Bandit!  I almost bought the same one (minus fairings) before getting my 620 but didn't want to learn to ride on an 1100.   [moto]

Rick's suspension stuff is 100% awesome!...his website direct is moto-cd.com !...he is a good resource for a bunch of other stuff too, like chains and sprockets and various bits here and there...he is a suspension guru and a half!!!

Nice!  When I had my Bandit, I got a lot of good advice from the Bandit forums on Maximum Suzuki.

Already signed up!  Fellow DMFer DucHead already welcomed me to MS!  Unfortunately, DMF has spoiled me...it takes days to get a response over there!!

The suzuki GS forum spoiled me. I get answers within an hour or two, which is faster than here. Although... Most of our bikes are running, and not sitting in a shed for 30+ years, haha...

Anyways... No more monster? You'll be back, eventually, haha! I still frequent the GS forums even now.
