Help me identify an old movie.

When I was a little kid I went with some friends to the local cinema and watched something called "The Creature with the Atom Brain"  It was so scary I went and hung out in the theatre lobby, occasionally getting up the nerve to sneak a peak at the screen.

That movie stuck in my head ever since

When I was a kid..growing up in the 70's..my parents took me to double features at the drive-in every week.  The second movie was typically a horror flick, i.e.: The Hills Have Eyes, Rabid, Texas Chain Saw, The Omen, The Exorcist, etc.  Then my step-dad took me to see Alien.  WTF?!  After that..my real dad sent me the 15" Alien with the glow-in-the-dark head and articulating jaws.   That scared the bejezus out of me in the middle of the night!  That thing was worse than the clown in Poltergiest!   My parents wonder why I snuck upstairs to be by them in the middle of the night all the time.   


Anyway..can't think of an old movie I saw at the $.01 double feature my cousin and I used to go see on Sat afternoons.  It was in color and all I remember was a tree with tunnel it where some kind of troll..or something like that..lived.  When I think of that movie..I always think of Darby O'Gil and the Little People but that wasn't it.  Any ideas??

I picked up Killer Klowns on DVD a while back in a bargain bin. A true classic. 

Alien was another one that freaked me out big time as a kid.

Yeah, I was a bit older when that came out. More comical.
