I know those damn cops, I just work for them.  Recently I applied for a job with the State Police that has the title CIA.  It even pays well, but is working overnights.  It pays 3500/mo plus overnight premium starting out, which is good for springfield considering our cost of living is low compared to all of you in places such as So. Cal.

I have to agree with the others who posted it.  Just because you have a degree doesn't mean you'll be making a decent living fresh out of the box.  There are some degrees that have practical applications in higher paying fields.  You can do a lot to get a head start if you do internships during the summers while in college.  I have had several classmates struggle out of college, and now they're just starting to get on their feet.

I wish you the best of luck.  Make the decisions now that will set you up for success later on.  It sounds like you have your head on straight.  If you make the tough decisions now, you will be able to indulge later on.  [moto]

I lived on nothing but food and gas during college and after for the first few years.  I had my degree in electrical engineering, but I was struggling at times to make ends meet as a federal employee.  However, making decisions that made life hard in the present has really set me on the right path.

Hang in there and don't be a stranger.  [thumbsup]

I won't be a stranger, thanks for the kind words ducatista.  My degree was in communications and political science.  In Springfield we have plenty of politicians and political jobs, just not as many careers in communications.

i'm abobout a year and a half without a bike, myself.

(and drunk, presently)

i'm also 24. my bike got jacked... i suppose these things happen.

anyways, i'm going to korea for a year, to teach englisd (i don't know korean a'tall), and shall buy a bike when i get back (a ducati!!)

uh... i'm not sure if this post was suppsed to be "encouragement,"empathy," "advise," or "badly typed, and poorly edited...."

it's most certainly at least one of those.

hang in there, chief. all will sort itself out, with time. [thumbsup]

That's cool your going overseas to teach, I've always seen those ads wanting teachers for other countries.  I appreciate your drunken post no matter which way it was done.

On a positive note, I go to get a gas station on break to get a soda and see a 1200 sportster displayed.  Ask how to win it.  They tell me to come back during the live remote at 5-7.  I go after work and sign up with the miller girls who are friendly.  But in all honesty I just want the bike not the miller girls.  The bike up for grabs is really a fatboy.

If I win it maybe Ducatista and I can go for a ride, but you'll probably kick my as* in the corners with your duc.

I know, I'm making less than half that amount now as a temp.  Hoping to get up to your level soon and then maybe get that cia position eventually.
