Looks like Woodcraft is coming out with a model specific clipon for the 696/1100.
These look like they mount to the top of the stock triple. Might be a good option for someone who wants to swap back and forth from bars to clipons. Not the best looking, but no doubt very functional. Pricepoint around $200.
Thanks to Jeff from Monsterparts for the info.

they mount on the risers... which are rubber mounted...

this is very wierd. it will look like you have 3 triples

and forget getting upgraded forks.. infact i wonder it the stock 1100 adjustable fork will fit

That is a cute solution....  Seems like a cliponesque variation on the clubman type bars theme.

Guess if it blocks access to M1100 fork adjusters - you just have to remove 4 bolts to get these bars off and make your adjustment... not ideal, but not completely onerous either.

How often do you really adjust your suspension though.  Really.

I'm a whore for Woodcraft.  Good stuff from a good company  [thumbsup]

I can't reach the top adjustment in my ohlins forks without removing the bars anyway, so I do t see how this is much different than stock.

i dont think it will look too weird if the top triple was PC'd black to match.

Isn't the whole concept with clipons that they... clip on the fork legs? [drink]

Well there is that. They also change how much of the riders weight is distributed to the front end. And changes the riding position. Another plus is that replacing a bent clipon bar is much cheaper than a new set of handlebars.   [thumbsup]

Nothing new and they could have done better IMHO.  I had a set of crossroads on a 2006 Buell XB12Ss that bolted directly to the top triple and left the adjuster exposed.
