I always said flat trackers were too slow. Throwing it sideways at 100mph on dirt, hell, I can do that on my mountain bike.  ;)

I was under the impression he was gonna use actual dirt track wheels.

i'm interested in seeing how this turns out...  i've liked a lot of sand's designs and i think it will def be interesting once it's done...

and for all of you that are saying it's a travesty... i have just one quote for you that should explain it all...

Marty McFly: Wait a minute, Doc. Ah... Are you telling me that you built a time machine... out of a DeLorean?
Dr. Emmett Brown: The way I see it, if you're gonna build a time machine into a car, why not do it with some style?

that just about sums it up i think ;)

That was an awesome, awesome thing to see, especially since Amy and I got to watch it trackside, about 10 feet away from Nicky Hayden, Larry Pegram, and some of the other racing gods who were present.

Saw it too.

I can't believe they took the quintessential road bike and hacked it up. Go to hell Roland Sands.

Flat track is awesome.  To be honest I think a 1198 motor would be much superior in that application - flat track is all about hooking up and the more-spaced-out power pulses of the twin will do much better than v4.  I haven't raced flat track yet, but have dabbled a little.  Its huge fun.
