First off, I hate to divulge this product without first doing it...but here goes!  (I'm sure someone with more disposable income than myself will do this before I can)

Did a quick search and found this product:

http://www.futurevisionhid.com/h6024-bi-xenon-projector-motorcycle-headlight.html

I was thinking it might look pretty good on the new generation of monster (especially since our superbike brethren already have projectors...along with the jap bikes)

Now since this is a 7" replacement and the new generation monster (696, 796, 1100) have that split molded light assembly, bracketry from an older monster or something universal/custom would be needed.  Any thoughts?  (and what post did I miss where someone already beat me to it)

It seems to be only either high beam or low beam, but not both. I could be reading it wrong.

As I understand it, because of the solenoid that is included, it works similar to true HID projector headlights where lowbeam puts a shield over half the element, high beam retracts said shield.  I have a friend who had an HID proojector conversion done to his Subaru 2.5RS and thats exactly how his kit works.

I will do some more digging but if that is the case, I may be setting aside some mod money.   ;D

Also, I did a very quick, very crude microsoft paint rendering of my general idea...dont tease.

(And yes this is an 1100 and I have a 696...and yes the blinkers would change and the factory frame obviously wouldnt be there.  I said quick and crude.)

And I, like an idiot, just found a thread that shows the light I want on an older monster.  Heres a revival:

You can retrofit a kit for 1/3 of that price. I will have a spare kit for sale later...

but i just bought 2 morimoto mini h1 projectors for $130 +2 H1 HID bulbs for $25 and a spare ballast off Ducati.ms for $15.

Total cost: $170, however, i am looking to sell the extra projector and matching bulb for $80 bucks, so really im only spending $90 bucks.

I will be doing pretty much the exact same thing as Theo did except my projector seems to be a bit smaller.

For that price there is a very real chance I will be offering to buy your spare...  You would of course understand if I want to wait and see how it comes out though right?  ;)  I also will need to get an older bucket, trim ring and brackets since the new gen monster doesnt really allow for a projector install by itself.

TAftonomos fabed that headlight up using a stock bucket.  Fantastic job.
