Hey all, purchased a new seat cowl on ebay from a Duc dealership.  Duc part number 59530251a. The description said that this would fit any pre-2008 Monster. It appears to be too wide and not tall enough for my 620 "chick" Monster? I have a stock seat and had a cowl before that I lost in a very windy ride. I know the original part number from the 620 catalog is no longer valid.

Have you cross checked part numbers from different years?

These guys have a pretty nice collection of parts catalogs for the last 10 years.

Actually, I looked at the auction description, it has part number 59510252BA, they sent me part number 59530251a which only fits pre 2000 900/750. I ordered the right part got the wrong part. Only problem is my bike was in storage (at the Duc dealer) and I purchased this at the end of January. So, I'll keep the dealer's name to myself and call it an honest mistake if they allow me to exchange it. If not, then I'll call it a bait and switch and expose them for who they are....

ALL SEAT COWLS SHOULD FIT ALL MONSTERS ! DO YOU HAVE THE BRACKETS & CORRECT HARDWARE ? THE PART # IS LIKELY A SUPECESSION..........

Any parts guys care to chime in? Is 59510252BA the same as 59530251a?????
The brackets were purchased from Monster parts.

That is not exactly true.

The early seat cowls 93-99 are a bit taller/shorter I forget and don't fit tight to the top of the later seat

Ducpainter is absolutely correct. I had some time last night to really check out the cowl fitment. It isn't really even close. Part number 59530251a is not tall enough and too wide to fit on my 03 that has part number 59510252BA. So, beware, seat cowls are not universal, and the part number is NOT a "SUPECESSION" [roll] ;D

I have a seat cowl that was taken off of a 2006 Monster 620, with the part number 595.3.025.1A.  The seat cowl has fit on a 620, 695, and S2R, and will fit all S4R models.  I can show you pictures of it on a 695 seat fitting perfectly, as it was supposed to out of the factory.

That being said, Cross Country Ducati's parts department just confirmed that the part number on the bottom of the cowl was often "wrong." In clarification, they said that all 2000-2008 monster cowls fit all of those years, and that old stock was frequently used on newer bikes.  Identical cowls from identical monsters of a particular year could still have different cowl part numbers.   Part numbers changed in catalogs for the new plastics, but not for the identical old stock plastics that were fitted to new bikes anyway.
