So there I was, flying down the left lane of the Dulles Toll Road, around 6 this morning, when the engine just shut off.  Like somebody hit the kill switch.  I pulled into a cozy little place in the median and tried to restart it.  No luck, it turned over and started once, but now doesn't even try to turn over.  Something electrical I'm sure.  I had it towed to my girlfriends apartment in Clarendon and parked it in her garage.  I'll trailer it out to Duc Pond later.

Thanks! to all the nice riders who stopped to see if I was OK.

dude....I hope it is something stupidly simple like a bad ground that came loose or a clogged fuel filter....I am sure you have done some of that initial looking at...

I tried everything I could while I waited for the tow truck.  When I get it home I'll take a closer look.  The fuses were all good, and every connection I checked looked OK.  I'll let you know what happens.  I'm due for the 6K mile service anyway.

here's a silly question, but did you run out of gas?  I made that mistake once....

[laugh]  I had that happen once.  A dude was kind enough to lean out of his pickup truck to diagnose my situation.  "I have a 748.  It's just overheating.  Give it a few minutes to cool and try again."  Ok, so how is a liquid cooled FI 4-valver at all similar in performance to an air cooled carbie 2-valver?  ???
