so, some of you may have seen older threads of mine. but here it goes anyways.

i want / need a leather jacket. I am trying to make it to DITR (i mean come on, its three hours away) but i dont want to be that deuche with the AStars mesh jacket and jeans (pants discussion later).

so i need one. But. Im picky. I don't want to look like eurotrash, i don't ride a crotch rocket, or a cafe racer. Im modern, mean, fast and subtle. basically hooligan, but not sponsored, if you know what i mean.

i hate logos, but if theyre small im fine with it.

i like black, not too many colors please. I need it to be safe. And I don't like perf leather (never given it a chance, so it could be an option. maybe)

please help guys, i know i sound like a pregnant dog, but i need help.

heres what im looking at so far. these are all options, but they have something wrong with each and every one of em.

Revit Tarmac
pros - one of the best options ive found so far
not speed racer ish
not euro
leather
subtle
small ish logo

cons - $600 a little much but maybe doable
logos need to go in this list too, fifty fifty
lots of mesh perf leather
http://www.revitusa.com/en-us/#/products/FJL048

Revit CR
pros - subtle ish
price is better - $450 ish
fit is amazing, tried this one on at erico motorsports in denver
some very very subtle mesh for venting

cons - to retro?
im not on a cafe racer
not a fan of the red

http://www.revitusa.com/en-us/#/products/FJL040

Ducati Nero
pros - great looking
price is ok for leather (for me)
ducati jacket
fit ok
subtle
zippers at cuffs, no velcro

cons
fit ok, seemed to bunch up in the elbows
price is just ok $479
lets be honest, i may not always be riding a duc, but, then again when im in what, 5 years, buy another jacket right?

Ducati Fighter Jacket
http://www.shopatron.com/products/productdetail/part_number=9815710/1776.0?utm_source=google&utm_medium=shopping&utm_campaign=googleshopping

pros - awesome looking
price isn't too crazy
comfy, fits well!

note: i know dainese makes this, and they have their own, but i dont like it. consider not considered

cons
again, ducati logo
NOT leather

anyways, im tired of posting ideas

can anyone help? try to stay between 400 and 550 bucks

subtle is key, leather is preferred, and im not going on a track, oh, and im not into river road. i need a nice jacket, not saying they arent nice, but....

thanks so much for any help you guys.

Cortech (by Tourmaster) Coaster II. Available as a perforated "air" option. http://www.motorcyclegear.com/browse/view_product_images/460

I've worn a black w/ white stripes version for the last 10,000 miles on my Sport 1000. Before that, I had a black/tan version. It crashes very well for the price.

I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.

My opinion - Rev'it CR  8) work black shoe polish into the red - the red will be almost gone.

or... the Fighter jacket - that type of fabric matches leather for your use - remove logos.
252,000 km/seventeen years - loving it

so just got the cycle gear catalog today.. & this is the closest i could see to your pickiness lol (which i understand completely, im the same way)http://www.cyclegear.com/spgm.cfm?L1=5000&L2=2&L3=108&L4=109&item=TWL_SEDL1-BZ-038_G&name=SEDICI_Monza_Leather_Motorcycle_Jacket#

so pros:
it's black
leather
the logo doesnt really show
it's only $299

cons:
there's some perforated leather
you might not like the geometric shapes on the front

there's my 2 cents for the day  [moto]
says elyse :)

pure. adrenaline. *snort* heh heh weeeeee!

Fun i think you nailed the pros and cons perfectly, the price seems great too

the fighter jacket seems amazing, but its not leather, that still bugs me, even more than the logos i think...

even though if perfed, i think i like the tarmac the best so far.

keep em coming!

thanks for the feedback!

Have you  looked at Vanson?  There is an excellent Vanson Cobra for sale in the classifieds.  IMHO, I think they are in a class all their own.  Uncompromizingly solid and understated.

Unless you get the Ducati Corse leather Jacket , the other ones I've looked at don't seem to have very good Armor.

Any Dainese leather Jackets come to mind ?

Check out the Dainese Greyhound. All black w. only 2 small logos, one on each Shoulder I believe. Nano feel liner which is very nice and warm, zips out , no perforation though. Looks a lot like this one.

What kind of temperatures do you expect to be riding around in ?

Highs

Lows

You may want a Jacket w. a zipout cool weather liner for early morning and by later in the day be ready for full perforation leather.

i have the cr, and it's a great jacket... i got it in the cream color which looks a lot better than the black imo.  tried the black on and the red and white just stand out way too much on it.  the color scheme is much smoother on the cream and i've gotten a lot of compliments on it already.  also... since it's a bit more of a classic look, i think it will hold up in terms of fashion forever basically.

the only point i would bring up about it is that if you plan on riding in warmer weather at all... you might want to look at something else.  the perf'ing is pretty small and while i havent ridden in anything resembling hot weather yet, i can see how it's not a jacket for the height of summer.  i back up the cr with a rev'it air for when it gets really hot.

one more odd thing to mention is that the fit btwn the black jacket i tried on and then returned vs the white jacket was a huge diff.  the black was a very very race fit... when zipped up, i couldnt straighten my arms down or even let them rest at my sides.  the jacket kept me in a very race position at all time... but then i got the white in the exact same size and it fits like a casual precurve, not the severe one like the black.  it fit what i wanted from the jacket better so i was glad that it wasnt as precurved, but watch out that the fit might not be as exact as you might think jacket to jacket.

first i don't know how you can say the revit tarmac is not speed racer, its totally speed racer, it has hard armor on the outside its completely track/speed racer looking.

look for some dianese they have some subtler stuff but normally they do have somewhat big logos on them.

honestly get a custom jacket made from johnson leather if you are that picky, you will then get what you want.

good luck.

I have the black revit cr. Got it from Revzilla (who are great!). I got it after trying an AStars jacket that was so stiff that I felt like I was in a box. Tried the revit and it fit like a glove. I have a red/red monster, so the red on the arms does not bother me, and I think it adds something different without being cheesy. Agree with Thought - this may not work too well as a summer jacket. I have thought of taking it somewhere to add more perf.

yeah with the red bike i think that would look great. i am adding some red bling as i go to my dark 696, so it may end up being cool. thanks for the comments to both of you on the perf in hot weather. im in colorado springs, and though its dry, it gets hot here. I may keep my AStars mesh jacket for that reason.

your right, out of these it is the most speed racer ish. the armour on the outside is making that happen for sure. but put it next to any other track jacket, and you would say its a hooligan jacket. thats kind of the appeal, its modern and fast, but its'll kick your ass for looking at your girlfriend the wrong way.

good call on the sizing, ill keep my eyes open for that, could just be a factory thing, ive seen that in other clothing. Not sure white is my thing, i see people out on the slopes in white ski and board gear, gets dirty soooo easy

I have been looking at dainese, and i do like them if the logo on the back is in black, kind of dissapears. dainese is a bit pricey though.

thanks for the input guys and gals!

yeah, it does take a bit more upkeep... but i just try to stay away from totally blacked out jackets because... well... everyone has a black leather jacket.  and i figure brighter colors help out a bit in terms of being able to be spotted at night/day.

that being said, i'm probably going to pick up a dainese alien perf jacket sometime soon.  prob in red because, like i said, i like to have some brighter colors in there somewhere.  my only issue with it is that the red on the underarms is a bit brighter than i would prefer, it's kind of a lipstick red... if it were more of a crimson, i would have already gotten it.  and i've been wanting a jacket with a red accent there ever since i saw that awesome belstaff jacket in the dark knight haha.

i was considering the tarmac too... but i dont like speed humps on jackets... one 1 pieces, sure, but on jackets it's a bit... meh for me.  same reason i like the alien over the rebel for dainese too.

and here's a pic of the belstaff from the movie:

I'm pretty picky and don't like logos. I just got a Dainese Alien all-black and I love it. No hump, which I didn't want. Logos are pretty simple and understated, and this jacket feels amazing on and riding. A little more than you were thinking of spending, but it was more than I was thinking of spending too and I don't regret buying it a bit.

I've had a Firstgear 'Horsepower' jacket for a few years now, and I like it.

Not sure if you can turn one up anymore, since I believe I picked it up on clearance from NewEnough.
