Immobilizer issue?

I was riding my 2003 620 for about an hour today when I stopped to get gas.  When I put the key back in the ignition the fuel pump primes, the lights come on, the oil and engine light come on, the gauges sweep, and the immobilizer blinks a few times.  Then the amber light stays on steady and nothing happens when I try the starter.

I think there may been some condensation in the cluster but thats all I can think of.  It was running fine for an hour before I stopped for gas.

Any ideas?

I tried unplugging the cluster because I remember that, when unplugged, the starter will try to turn the bike over but nothing happened.

What's my next move?

I hope you're not still stuck at the gas station..

Options in order of ascending price.

1) There's a sensor loop under the ignition key make sure its positioned right.

2) Try a diferent key (preferably black spare that you should have) Make a new key copy with your red key asap if it works.

3) Do the standard stuff disconnect the battery, cluster ,etc see if everything resets.

4) Get your ECU flashed to remove the immobilizer.

5) Buy a new instrument cluster and program it with your red key. Be prepared to be gouged at your dealer

So I had to borrow my buddy's truck and take my bike home.  >:(

I tried the red key...tried unplugging and replugging...and I check the immobilizer ring.

Is there a procedure, using the red key, to reset the ECU/immobilizer?  I searched but all I found was a brief reference to counting flashes and twisting throttles.

Maybe gas and a match are my best options!  GRRRRRRRRR!  JK...love my bike when it's not fighting me.

Having the same issue.

What was your fix?

I think starter is stuck on a flat spot & need to throw the bike off a cliff to break it loose.  >:(

It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.
