I recall a documentary on pbs I saw last year that said even 2 eaglets is considered a high yield.  I wonder how long before the parents give up and do something with it.

mitt

I have been watching a lot of the feed and it seems one of the eaglets is eating more and is more active than the other as well.
Woohoohoohoo! Two personal records! For breath holding and number of sharks shot in the face.

the same documentary said that is normal as well.  There is an alpha in the nest and sometimes it will try and kill the other one by pecking at it and starving it.  I imagine if the younger one does survive, he/she is a tough bird  ;D

The adult stood up and there it was. The other two were huddled together.

It was moving but still mostly in the well broken egg shell.

I think it is pretty amazing to hear the mourning doves, owls, geese, and other birds in the background.  They must have a great microphone.

mitt

Of course I posted about the microphone, and now it sounds like crap...

must be some interferance with the IR camera or something  ???  You are right though, it started the buzz right when it went to black and white.

I didn't realize but there is a youtube channel with highlights.

This one is kind of funny, because the male accidentally moved one of the eaglets out of the center of the nest.  The female comes back and looks at him just like my wife does when I supervise the kids the wrong way.

You need to stop and start that video (play pause play pause) in the beginning. The eaglet actually grabs the side
of the old mans head while he is cleaning house and goes for a ride.  :D

Buckethead

Right before the end of that clip she looks up at the cam as if to say "You see what I have to put up with?" Classic.
