Looking at more vids, that eaglet must be a daredevil, cause he/she did it again 2 days later, and started attacking one of the corpses in the nest

Yea, hopefully the little ones are OK with the bad weather.  It is nasty here lately - wind, rain, snow, sleet.

I just had it up on my screen and the one was stumbling around.
It stuck it's ass in the air and a white projectile shot out like a bullet.  [laugh]

Just watched the live feed for the first time in a couple of weeks. It looks like the two darker ones (obviously the older of the three) are doing well and were being fed by mom/pop. The adult's back was to the camera but it seemed obvious that was what was going on. The younger gray kiddo was closer to the camera and just didn't seem to look well. Maybe it was just asleep but it was all splayed out in a weird manner and I would think it would pick up on the feeding of the the two older siblings. You hear about adult birds favoring the oldest and most active/assertive chicks and blowing off the youngest and weakest. That whole survival of the fittest thing. I wonder if that is what is taking place here? Any more active live feed viewers have any feedback on this? Am I reading too much into what I just viewed.

I have a very good childhood friend who is a tenured professor at UCLA that has an ornithology lab there. I need to email him and turn him onto this site. A hundred bucks says he knows all about it already! [thumbsup] He might be able to tell me what's going on just by watching the feed for a while. Hope the youngest one makes it OK. The world needs more bald eagles!! ;D
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!
