ok - wow - that was scary.

But here's a question - why would you be recording a truck just driving down the road??

Slide Panda

Why does half the stuff that's getting captured on film happen? Who really knows could be any number of reasons good or bad... Either way, sweet jebus he got lucky. That looked like it was only a few inches of hitting him... and yes, that would suck to no end on a bike. I'd have to think an impact like that might be lethal, not to mention the crash it'd induce
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

good lesson why not to tailgate on your bike.  I see a lot of examples of people staying to close to vehicles around here.

Saw a thing on TV a while about about two guys riding 2-up on a motorcycle and were both impaled by a beam that was on the back of a truck. They both were connected together via impalement and had to be taken to the emergency room while still connected. Both (amazingly) survived.

*correction: it was a 2in pipe.

Bill in OKC

I was following a line of cars back to OKC from Dallas, lots of traffic and the cars in front of me all start swerving for some reason.  Then the car directly in front of me, a land barge, hits an exhaust pipe/muffler combo that must have fallen out of something else up ahead.  The thing launched up like a tiddly wink and was coming right at my windshield at eye level...  I had my brakes on but thought it was still gaining altitude so I let off the brake and sailed underneath it without a noise.  I saw it land in the road behind me in the mirror and a silver PT cruiser was lucky not to hit it.  I'm glad I wasn't on a bike or it would have likely impaled me or at least knocked me off.

Knew a guy who had a wheel and tire come through his windshield after bouncing over the concrete divider. Luckily it hit the passenger side.

My first thought exactly. And yes, scary as hell!!
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.

Good thing is that if you are on a bike and this sort of thing happens, you'll never know. Quick and painless. Hopefully.
