I am getting ready to dive into the top end of the engine on my bike & do a big bore kit, cams & big valve heads. The bike is an '04 620 so it is prob not the best choise for all these parts but the total investment was less than selling it & buying a 1000. It will end up being a high compression 750cc engine with 800 heads & cams. I was thinking of having the ECU reflashed to 800 spec then using a power comander to dial it in from there. The problem is the price of the reflash & the power commander is approching the price of a nemesis ecu. Being a 620 I think both choises would require swaping the TPS to a non linear unit. So far the only draw back to going the Nemesis route I can think of is not every dyno shop would be familure with its software as they are with dynojets. Any input other than forgeting it & buying a bigger bike?
If there is sentimental value in the existing bike, its understandable. Also, a hopped up bike is more fun to talk about, whether or not performance is mind-boggling, than a pretty plain-jane version.
On the ECU reflash, plus a PCIII - You are going to be modifying the original computer, and adding a piggyback computer to do the job of a single computer: the Nemesis.
If you have a local shop that will spend the (essentially required) "day" to fully map the Nemesis, I think you'd have the best overall setup.
But the unit itself is more costly, and the tune-time is going to add up to bigger $$$ for sure.
Similarly, since I think you'll be needing to work pretty extensively with a shop that has a Dyno, you may also investigate the Microtek systems.
http://www.microtec.cc/cms/enIf you are using a shop, they may have more experience with one or the other: nemesis or microtek. Certainly something to ask about.
The other I've heard positive chatter about would be the
Bazzazz products. I have no FHE though, and not sure they make something that would 'take care' of the whole system, or rather equipment that augments the setups, like Powercommander's PCIII, etc.
