S4Rs In Michigan

« Reply #900 on: May 24, 2013, 07:04:28 PM »

I have been wanting to get rid of the oil can reservoirs and found these off an SF from a DMF member.  I am still trying to balance them out but for a couple reason they will not get even.  I like the bars a lot, a little lower but the angle is what makes them comfortable.

Later : I forgot to mention compared to stock the angle of the SM bars makes it easier to keep your elbows in, almost forces them in a little, nice.

Get ready for a few pics.

I'm working on a new headlight project, inspired by a fellow member - Mr. Stormtrooper.

I bought an LED headlight:

Thanks to Stormtrooper, it's ready to plug-and-play

It's a little bright:

The long-term goal for the bike is to mix some vintage and modern elements to make a cafe-racer (with a child on the way, this just became a loooooong term goal  Roll Eyes), so to that end, I bought a headlight housing from a 1966 Ducati Monza:

And of course, I had to start stripping it:

I didn't have time to take a decent pic of the bare metal version (ran out of daylight), but needless to say, updates will be upcoming.

On the wishlist:

CRG Arrows! The little bitty round jobbies the DPO had on were ne'er worthless, even tho they were CRGs. And I have a fuse block with relay coming from Eastern Beaver.
The new bike has the slip on Termy kit and a 14 tooth sprocket, it has much nicer cold drivability than the crunched one did!
