Lock wood can be tricky and dirty.
Shame, RIP.
Wow, that's a tremendous amour of damage to a vehicle like that.

More info on the multiple bike crash. At least two of the bikes were heading in opposite directions and collided head-on when one or both crossed the center line mid-turn. A friend of a friend came upon the accident 5 minutes after and took pictures, which he sent to my friend. Disturbing.

The multi bike crash was also on the 33, about half way between Lockwood Valley Road intersection and the Pine Mountain summit.

Beyond me why someone would take pictures.

I could see it if it was one of the involved individuals, for insurance or investigative reasons. Then again, why would anyone want to look at them? (guilty)

Another eye witness. My co-worker's sister was "involved" in the accident in Ojai. She was heading south on 33 when the motorcycle passed her at very high speed over the double yellow. The rider stayed on the opposoite side and struck the oncoming SUV about 30 yards in front of her. She saw the passenger fly through the air and land down the road. The rider and passenger were local residents.

Small world, one of the riders injured on the 33 was Binky's boss's dog trainer.

Hopefully your friend gave a statement to the investigators. If not she needs to. The statement you wrote would release the SUV driver from all liability.

This will surely change the enforcement on that stretch of pavement.
I feel bad for the SUV driver.

That stretch of pavement is a 45 limit thru town. There is always tons of traffic and pokey drivers looking at the scenery. I may ride at a "spirited" pace at times, but never through there. This wasn't on the "fun" part of the 33/150, just your average 2 lane blacktop.
It baffles me why this happened here. The other fatality up on the mountain, as unfortunate as it was, makes more "sense" in as much as it's a wide open sweeping uphill righthand corner that shuts down right at the end. I've been caught out on that corner before, but never (luckily) over the double yellow there. I don't mean that it makes sense that someone died there, just I can see if you get caught out by that particular turn, you could end up in the oncoming lane.
Carl (Sac Duc) and I will be heading up there tomorrow if anyone wants to join us. Probably not too too early, as I'm going to the Prince concert tonight at the Forum.

CHP crack down planned on Hwy 33. If you ride there be aware it's going to be heavily patroled.

I was up there on sunday.
I had breakfast at Eggs-N-Things.
At the register there was a donation box for the two on the Harley that were killed.
There were pictures of both.
I asked if there was a separate box just for the female passenger.
They asked why.
I said I didn't want to contribute to someone who would ride under the influence and kill someone else. I would, however, contribute to the passenger that was killed.
They said they couldn't do that. I said I couldn't contribute.
Does that make me an asshole?
(more than I already am?)
By the way, the pictures of them on the box... His is of him standing near his motorcycle drinking a beer.
I feel sorry for his family and the family of the girl he killed. It really sucks.
Okay, flame away...

I hate to say it....
But i kinda knew it was gonna be a Harley rider and booze related accident.
This is solely based on my observation of that BBQ restaurant up the road from the 150/33 :
Then again i've seen the same booze pounding sort at Hells Kitchen on Ortega, Newcombs Ranch on ACH and the Rockstore on Mulholland
It truly is a shame that stuff happens
