Yup, saw it on the 70's honda thread, congratulations.... how does it feel to make everyone who does not have one jealous? [bacon]

Don't want to make anyone jealous, but then again, "Haters Gonna Hate!"   [laugh]

As someone told me this weekend, "The 916/996/998 series bike are beautiful to look at, as are the 848/1098/1198's... But they don't look like they're going a buck 20 sitting still!"  Yeah, I love the Triple-9!   [moto] ;D

Gotta disagree... the 999 and the new monsters are in the same category for me... they were trying to do something, what exactly it was I'm not sure, and it turned out horrible.  On second thought, throw the old Multistrada in the same category.

Love the old monsters (miss my '99 M750), the pre-2000 900 SuperSports, and the early SBK's.

The older Multi..?  meh.   When the 999 came out, I jumped on the bandwagon of haters, but the more I looked at them, the more I was drawn to them.  NOTHING out there looks like the 999, and that's a good thing.  As purty as the **6/**8/***8 series' looks, it just can't go a buck 20 on their sidestands like the Triple-9 can.

But, that's what's great about the forum.  We can disagree on stuff...  Just don't try to convince me that the old Indiana was a pretty bike, or we're gonna have problems!  >:(

I do not feel this "jealousy" you speak of. . .

Also, it's too bad that bike is too big to be on an episode of "will it blend?"

Yall are just being mean.

It's as if you assume "buying a Ducati" means "having taste."

I mentioned in a previous thread that someone could effect the same affect of neons on a Monster by just taking a dump on the bike..

well, looks like someone took my advice.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Ahks

I have a friend that's buying an R6.

He decided to get the R6 after I told him I'd hit him with my car if he painted the 749 he was looking at... blue...

I was mostly joking  :P

Come on guys, the builder was doing his part to stay true to the 999 heritage.  He kept the original yellow signal covers on the rear view mirrors.  Everyone really into the 999 knows that the yellow signal covers are what it is all about.  Oh, and the upper and lower headlight adjustment knobs.  I bet he left those stock too.

I'm still trying to figure out how to use those knobs the right way...   [bang]

I'm going to paint my 996 blue.

blue is fine

just don't stretch the swingarm and put a 300 tire on it and expect us not to laugh at you behind your back (more than we do now).
