This is what was done to a new BMW S 1000 RR for of all people , 51 year old Professional Golfer Paul Azinger, a very conservative white man as I know him.

Conservative and white in the US had a bad habit of hiding varying levels of depravity. :D

My guess? The last 2 pictures is closer what he's hoping to achieve on a normal basis with a bike like that...

Edit: that paint job on that bike looks pretty damn good. I could deal with less of the Roland Sandsesque wheels tho... Something a bit more mellow that doesn't try to pull your eyes off the paint

With all due respect, and without calling out any names, I see that kind of stuff on bikes here all the time.  Sometimes "more" is actually just "too much."  Simple is good, people.  Simple is good.

It's all in the execution. Minimalist bikes when done right can be super clean and yes there is beauty in simplicity. But, a bike with all the right carbon/Ti/gofastbits can be just as beautiful. Conversely, when done poorly a minimalist bike can just look ratty (not always a bad thing) and a bike with add-ons can look gaudy.

I think a lot of it can be compared to someone taking the Mona Lisa and saying "oh, i think she would look better with a moustache and a neck-tattoo."  Just because you CAN put something on your bike, doesn't mean you SHOULD.

There's a shop in my neck of the woods specializing in customing the Honda Ruckus.  I saw a whole gang of them going down the road the other day.  Many had way stretched out rear ends.

I thought the Ruckus was cool when it wasn't.  Now that it is cool, it's not cool anymore.

Or something like that.

it's still cool.  just because a baboon figures out how to use a toilet to take a crap doesn't mean you should stop.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.
