I like it.... Gotta get some cigarettes, use the mad ass, gotta grab some milk and eggs for breakfast, grab the mad ass, seems useful for short quick city moving.

I'd rock it. To me, it'd be a toss up between that and a Honda Ruckus.
At 200+ lbs, I'd feel a little better about the MadAss having 125cc.
Buddy of mine has a 50cc Tomos Sprint with a 70-something cc "big bore" kit. It's a hoot, but still woefully underpowered.

Yup with gas in my area getting to 4 bucks a gallon and more this would be a fun way of erranding for the good weather months
I like the bucket of tuning parts and big bore kits available
not to mention whole 4 valve motor options that can be bolted up to it
I also like the larger wheels unlike the Vespa-type scooters
this could be one of those things I would have a blast with for a few months
and then during the winter I could scratch my head and wonder why I bought it in the first place

Meh.
It's neat and I like the moped geometry more than the scooter style, but when I'm looking for an errand runner I want internal storage, STUPID cheap 13" tires, and 100+mpg.

35 mpg if I got my hands on one

My bro has one. Haven't ridden it, probably won't even broach the subject......then he'll want to ride the Monster and that would scare the hell out of me.

Neat, but sadly the 125cc means it's not classified as a "moped" which means in Denver / Boston / etc. you can't park it on the sidewalk, in bike racks, etc. without getting a ticket
At which point, i'll eat the MPG and get a thruxton or bonneville for a bit more $, nice low stance for jumping on and off, and a bit more power
Cheers,
Adam

I believe the 50cc version is either discontinued or no longer imported
so yup the moped class went out with that in many states
they had a nice 80cc upgrade top end for that one

I was just talking to Mason down at Peirspeed and he said the pre-EPA sample X-road they played with does not have a good power to weight ratio...thinks it needs a 250 cc lump to do it justice

We have had them here in Oz for quite a while,
I looked at a used one approx six months old .......it looked six years, the metal quality is so poor
the bike was already corroded .
The fella selling it had assured me it was garaged its whole life
.
The forks were pitted quite badly it looked like the chrome was about to peel off
and actually all the metal surfaces were in bad condition.
It is a funky urban cool German design but made in China and unfortunately not made well
.
I took it for a test ride and hated it , the ergos are really bad the seat is really high and very
uncomfortable the thing felt very unbalanced ,under braked under powered and did not like starting.
Sorry to throw a spanner in the works for anyone considering on of these , IMO you would
be lucky to get two years out of it before you dropped it off at the dump.

I've got one: Matte Black 125
Quality: Made in China w/ cheapest materials available. Electrical is a PITA as connections corrode really easily and fail often. I'm having rust issues. But, I live at the beach and it's lightly covered when not in use. So, I can't necessarily blame manufacturer.
Ride: Weirder than a standard scooter. Very "leaned forward" on the seats and handlebars. I raised my handlebars to get a more level feel. I like that it's a manual transmission. I have no problem leaning into the corners and gunning it coming out. I can get the front wheel off the ground if I sit on the back of the seat and gun it. I'm 6'2 and 200#s. I have a 34" inseam. I don't really feel like a monkey make the beast with two backsing a football riding it. I do sit a bit further back on the seat that some of the pics in the ads. Technically, I could ride two up. But, at 200#s, I'm about at the power limit should I throw another 100#s on there.
Misc: It's gas tank is in the main frame and has a "reserve" switch on the side. There's a huge aftermarket base. Anything from bumping the engine up to regearing, and tons of racks available. Some saddlebag frames designed for between your legs. Rear and front rack are available. The speedometer is battery operated and reminds me of something you'd find on a bicycle.
FInal thoughts: Do I like riding it? Yeah - it can be fun. It's underpowered. Which for me, isn't necessarily a deal breaker (I ride a Monster 400, I'm used to going slow). It has a "wow, neat" factor that's fun around town. I've had no problems parking it on a sidewalk or anywhere else as it's often assumed as just a motorized bicycle. Especially if you pull the "125" stickers off the side. I've taken her on the boardwalk a couple of times. But, not when it's busy. I did try the freeway once and it was an interesting experience. I'd want the engine upgrade before I tried that again. Overall, it's fun around town. Fills a niche. As far as dressing for it, I'm not sure if I feel it's flip flops and brain bucket, AGATT or some blend between.
Knowing what I know now, I don't think I'd buy it again. I just don't get out of it what I truly wanted. Ohh well. Rat, wanna buy one? Less than 6 months old and slightly used. Get it off my porch for cheap.
