So..
my 'puter is getting a tad slow, and I was thinking of wiping the hard drive clean, but how do I do this and keep the things that I use like this forum and my e-mail address etc, I have a external hard drive so thats a start.

I also keep getting a 'last back-up and restore failed' and 'high usage' on the main drive from time to time.

If there is a better resolution that you can give me I think I have no alternative but to wipe the drive.

Mmick - number options - depends on what version of Windows (if you are) running.  If so you can use the inbuilt backup tool - or download the User State Migration Tool which basically backs up everything for your user profile, including favourite websites, files, emails etc.  It does not back up the programs though!  If you wipe the drive and reinstall Windows again you will need all the software handy and licences.

If you are running out of space a bigger drive may be the go - there is software out there that can take a copy or image of your drive and transfer to a new bigger drive.

Some other burning software suites - or even antivirus suites - have backup options to.  I know Nero Burning does do backups which you can do to an external drive and encrypt with a password for added security.  I think Norton360 is another all singing all dancing antivirus firewall backup balance your cheque book type of software that can do regularly scheduled backups.

After saying all that I would simply do the basics first - as in here:

Well I had the opportunity to ride to work today ... so I tried to reacquaint myself with the Old Road. Plenty of fog in the morning - its quite frustrating how the visor won't clear as easily as with rain.

Anyway, the road is still there and still an enjoyable ride. As usual there was the occasional trickle of water across the road in corners (seems to be getting worse ... but maybe that's just my memory).

If anybody is venturing out soon there are a couple of things worth noting (besides the obvious):
. Heading south just before the old Mt White Cafe there is a lot of fine gravel in the corner (again) taking up most of the southbound lane - this seems to happen quite regularly. It is the corner after the long downhill straight stretch
. On the north side of the Hawkesbury they were 're-sealing' the road today. They were working on a  section just south of the double apex (so on the way up the hill). Not a very technical part of the road but I hate it when they do this type of 'maintenance' it is a terrible roadsurface. I honestly don't see the point (other than saying they have done something) the loose gravel and a light dusting of sticky stuff soon deteriorates to leave a surface worse than before - it is easily torn up (if not entirely unstable to start with) and provides terrible traction.

interesting. coffee
I'd like to see a review on this one.
The way diesel prices are at the moment it wouldn't be viable.

I wonder whether it would have more torque that a petrol version. Diesels are famous for their torque aspect.

If that's the case we could see these towing bike trailers around Aust? Shocked      god forbid!! vomit

I'm not sure if you are having a laugh or I am completely missing something ... but how long do you think it will be before somebody makes a warranty claim due to them filling one of these things up with diesel?

It would be good to see Ducati develop an actual diesel engine, I'd imagine latter would be a beast of a set up for dual sport bikes, soft sand etc. as Vossy said plenty of torque....

IMO It's an odd move to come out with a petrol powered bike called the Diesel....Maybe Ducati intends to gauge potential market feedback with the intention of putting out an actual diesel powered bike in the future... Evil
