Spent a few hours up at the Australian Postie Bike Grand Prix today.

Looked like some good fun, saw some close racing and a few spills ... but bloody hell they must have been hot. Over 40 degrees, it must have been so hot all geared up and working hard on the 'track'.

Years ago (Even before Bucket racing!)when I was just getting into bikes and thinking about having a race the Melbourne Uni had a club called "Team F.U.R.T." (Cant remember what it stood for, probably something suitably vulgar?  Wink) and they used to race scooters of all persuasions before Posties became popular! waytogo Dolph
There were some SERIOUS weapons, Vespas and Lambrettas fully worked with race rubber and all! Very quick and the riders were NUTS!!!
And also I remember the one time boss of Yamaha here in Victoria, Mr Graham Laing used to race a stepthrough! He wouldnt tell what was in it but it would hold its own against some of the GP bikes!!  Shocked
All in all a shitload of fun!!  Evil Dolph applause
Aint that what its supposed to be??

Hats off to Paul M for going out of his way to help Mark/Mischka when he forgot how to start his Monster. I bet the silly shit flattened his battery accidentally. The legend himself hooked up his trailer and drove dam near 1000k's to help the lad. Des./Two Dogs couldn't make it as he had a sore ars (please explain Wobbart). Wobbart refused to help also as he , to be blatantly honest, really didn't give a make the beast with two backs as Mark had already fixed his exhaust.

To Mark, I hope that you get your bike sorted out (bet Paul has already looked at it).     waytogo

To Desmond, give Wobbart a wide berth for a week or so and everything should heal.     Roll Eyes

To Wobbart, you don't have a bike anymore you miserable shit but I still want my license plate bracket.   Grin

Now for something a little more serious .

Close calls and the elderly driver or expect the unexpected : always.

Returning home on Sunday from a nice little breakfast at the Coasties BBQ bacon and egg shack aka Mark n Julie's cafe
highly recommend it if your up the old Pac rd and feeling a bit peckish just drop in they wont mind  cheeky
back to the story , always ! always expect the unexpected and treat every driver as a moron !

We :Mrs Dogs and I on route home through the back street of Asquith came up Ralston rd (above) past the school , ahead was three cars turning right at the intersection, I noticed that the first and last car had their indicator on but the middle one didn't.

Anticipating the middle car too pull out into the left lane on me I slowed covered my brake and horn as I passed on the left.
What I had not seen was the 70 + old codger and his Mrs off too lawn bowls approaching the intersection from the other direction and turning right.
They turned across my path without a glance nothing ! no checking the inside lane ahead slowing down or even idicating.
They on seeing the line of cars turning right in the opp direction just turned.
Even as I was hard on the brakes high beam on 139db nautilus horn blasting didn't even dignify me with a oops sorry look a glance or SMIDSY just continued on pretending I wasn't there. Roll Eyes
Be careful out there people's and always expect a moron to not expect you . bang head
