Wait, what?
*scratches head*
Well, the frame goes well with the gold-tinted bits on the bike, but that particular shade of gray looks a bit too close to plastic, or primer.
And the yellow stripe does nothing for it.
Or am I missing something here?

I see where you are going and I had originally looked at that paint scheme and the 'old blue' on my rebuild
the green frame 750 SS is a classic. I think any Ducati done with it would be an instant hit if done right.

Horrid color combo. Each on its own might be nice. Gold, green, gray. Together...

yeah.. horrid..
the problem is that there is too much BLACK. the bevel engine is polished aluminum and the Borrani wheels are chrome.
the yellow stripe is too big, and sort of out of place.

I think Raux is is right - any Ducati done in the classic green frame combo would be a hit if done right. With emphasis on done right. I think it all comes down to the details; the position of the stripe on the side of the tank, the tank decals and then to replicate the font for any other numbers and words that you want to use. Here's one of my favorite green frames from

beyond the execution, I would question the "why" of it. the streetfighter is an amazing bike, paul smart is a legend, but the streetfighter (as a style) and he are seperated by DECADES. when I think tribute bike to a legendary racer of ducati's past an ultra angular modern superbike turned hooligan urban streetbike does not come to mind.
but thats just me. even a rossi edition streetfighter would bug me because unless its got a ton of "race" goodies its just a poser machine (I mean that literally, its styled to pose.) and its not a bike that a racer would have anything to do with. I guess I just hate it when the only thing that makes a bike a special edition is a few coats of paint to create a loose tie in to some portion of what it claims to be.

on the original bike, yes. they were yellow because the fibreglass yellowed, they were originally milky-clear.
