So I finally 'finished' for the winter a couple weeks ago.  Still a huge amount of things I want to do, but did far more than intended when I started out upgrading little things last winter, a project that just got bigger and bigger.
Prior to this mod cycle, the most advanced thing I had ever done mechanically was change the oil, and I had to look up how to do that.  All this was done with help from the board, random google searches, and a Haynes manual.
What I did last winter:
-   CA cycleworks Ignition coils
-   Ohlins DU-440 Rear shock
-   New Chain, front and rear sprocket
-   New Steering head bearings
-   Superbike forks + new triple clamps
-   Goldline Master cylinders
-   Rizoma Reservoirs
-   Keihin FCRs -
-   Woodcraft clipons
-   New break pads
-   Case saver insert
-   Frame sliders
-   Oil plug
-   Replace vacuum petcock with manual petcock
-   Powerlet ignition cables
-   Kellerman front turn signals
-   Clear alternatives integrated rear taillight
-       Rizoma bar ends
-       Rizoma sportline grips
-       Custom Spiegler brake and clutch lines
-       New timing belts
-       Tail chop

I think that is it, about 5x's more than I intended to spend, and a lot more headaches than I anticipated!

So here she is before:

And the 'finished' product:

Things I would still like to do:
Thorough cleaning
Eliminate emissions canister and crankcase breather box with nichols crankcase breather and a filter
Get tank and frame repainted, both are in less than perfect condition
... and that may actually be all I want to do to her...  [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]

Would love to get rid of some of my old stuff that I'm not using!  Right now I live in Germany, but will be moving back to the states over the next couple months, until then it doesn't make much sense to sell and mail things.
As soon as I'm settled back in the states I'll be sure and post some of my old bits up for sale, etc.

Nice, tasteful....I love old M900's...sorry I sold mine

my 900ie is nice but the Cagiva originals will always be my favorites

there's someone somewhere on the web who makes a really nice machined aluminum bracket for the shock reservoir/canister

here's a snap of my old set-up with that bracket

I do like that bracket better, not too happy with the two hose clamp type attachments.  This mod cycle was MOSTLY performance related, would love to get some more cosmetic stuff done next time I feel like I have money to spend.  Cleaning up things like the brackets, hiding lines better, open clutch cover, etc.

And since that is the first time I've heard it mentioned, what does 'Cagiva original' mean?  I googled it and the only reference I could really find was related to MV's.

RAT900

Cagiva Group owned Ducati from 1985 to 1996...the Monster was created by Galluzzi under their ownership of the company

they sold Ducati off to the Texas-Pacific Group in 1996

It looks like you've got the same filler cap I do - if it has the elephant engraving, the Caviga connection is why.

Very nice work!

Suggestions:
Ceramic-coat your header once you're back in the States... it's the only thing that jumps out as not really fitting with the rest of the color scheme.
Open up that clutch cover!
