"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

I disagree.

The labelling just needs to be EPA specific and designed in such a way that it "cannot be removed without destroying or defacing them "(the decal).

So a hi-adhesive sticker with the statutory language.  Watch for it..

I agree with that.  Maybe I didn't get your post.  Isn't that an ad for a decal one could buy for their exhaust like the fake DOT label to place over the "For novelty use only" sticker on your beanie?

OUTRAGEOUS perversion of the law.  Shame on you for highlighting such potential deviousness.

well it was a lawyer who found a typo in the Virginia statute supposedly requiring people to stop for a schoolbus.

client got a ticket for passing a schoolbus (stopped).
attorney found the statute said "must stop the schoolbus..." not "must stop for the schoolbus..."
he properly got his client off, but then submitted the statute to the VA state legislature for them to fix it.

we do good things.

That's a good thing?

Really?

Yes.  It is.  He did his job and then went above the call.

that is a terrible attorney.  next time he should go above the call and give evidence that convicts his guilty client, oh yeah you will say "that is not his job to to that is the prosecutors job"..but he had no problem doing the legislature's job by fixing a statute.

so next time maybe all defence attorneys should do the job of the state and convict their guilty clients, yeah right. [cheeky]

you don't understand.

he was ticketed for passing a school bus.

Turned out, there was no law on the books which made that illegal.

Do you really want to live in a world where courts can do whatever they want (as you've suggested) and charge people with made up crimes?  Really?

The system was challenged and corrected.  Unfortunately, this process allowed the motorist who passed the school bus to get off.  The attorney did his job.  The fault lies with legislative staff not catching the mistake before the law  published.

Dont blindly beat up lawyers any more than you want ignorant folks to beat up on motorcyclists blindly. There are bad apples, but dont throw them all under the same not-to-be-passed bus.
