PC II not reading full range of throttle?

Was just going a little work on the bike and had the seat off so I could see the PC II (yes 2) on my '00 900.
When it's on, there's a stack of LEDs that light up in relation to how much throttle you're giving the bike. At zero throttle the zero LED is on, as soon as I start to twist the LEDs start to climb as they should.
But the top out at a bit less than 2/3s of the range when the throttle tube is at 100% twist.
Bike runs fine, and doesn't seem like it's not getting full throttle - though I haven't really had it out for any hard ride since I had it in the shop. While it was in the shop the idle was adjusted since it was too low.
Is this a sign that my TPS isn't getting a full read? The instructions for the PC II are pretty sparse, and there doesn't seem to be any way to recalibrate that range in the PC 2.

Normal. It does not reach the top during KOEO throttle application. What you do want to check is in the PC III software, that the open and closed throttle positions are set properly. This is never correct and needs to be manually set per bike. It should read 0 at closed and 100% at full open. You need a laptop to plug in to the bike with the software on it. Where are you located? You can come by and I'll set it for ya... I'm in Sonoma.

Hahah, I appreciate the offer - but I'm not where close. I live outside of DC - so if you're ready for a cross country jaunt, then sure.
I'll have to see if I can track down my disk... Pretty sure I got it from the former owner and put it some place *safe*

Replied to you PM - but for anyone else who might know.
I've got a PC II (serial) and I downloaded the appropriate software (according to dyno jet) - but cant' find anything that's obviously for recalibrating the throttle. For comparison I downloaded the PCIII (usb) software - and it's got a menu entry "PowerCommander Tools" that has a calibration tool, that the older version doesn't.
Anyone familiar with the older tech? This would be an easy task with a PCIII but the II seems a bit more stubborn.

Still TBD. Loks like I'm going to need a USB to serial converter dongle to make this happen anyways. The PC lappy I have access to doesn't sport a serial port (shocking!)

Might want to ask the PowerCommander guys which one they recommend, sometimes the aftermarket electronic devices are a bit finicky about them.
Perhaps some of the folks here have a good recommendation too.
I've got no FHE with this on PowerCommander, but my Daytona Sensors AF meter was picky, according to them.

Sorry for the hassle you've got with it. Def give em a call, the function may not even be avail on your PCII. It is amazing how much diff this simple adj makes for idle and throttle smoothness. maybe time to upgrade to a III? You would get the ability to run an advanced map as well....

Perhaps it is... grrr. I dropped them and emial via their web form yesterday - no response as of yet. I'll try the phone a little later.

I think it's got to have that facility *somewhere*, there's enough variation in the TPS voltage (depending on where it's set) to make it necessary IMO.

Just spoke to a helpful fella from Dyno jet. The have had people use the USB to serial converter successfully, to connect a newer lap top to a 'legacy' PC - just gotta make sure you get those drivers with the cable.
He wasn't 100% sure about adjusting the throttle stops.. but I'll find out.
