I am pretty sure my back would detonate if I tried to ride my Sport 1000S 1000 miles in 24 hours.  Congratulations, and I need more pics of both bikes.

Mhanis

You get mad props for riding the Sport that far. I wanted one in black unbelieveably bad a year ago that the dealership had brand new. Then I rode it for 20 minutes and bought a Monster.

I'm not sure I would recommend this kind of thing for everyone, but I'm glad we did it.
I'd been wanting to do an SS1000 for a while and finally decided to do one in 2007 when the Motorcycle Tourers Forum sponsored one in our area. I was surprised to have my wife, a dedicated twisty rider, decide she wanted to go with me.

For almost the whole thing, we were running the superslab, but the whole experience wasn't bad at all and was actually quite easy. I was really surprised when my wife was less sore than I was. I rode my ST2 and she rode her bone-stock 2000 R1....plus she is disabled.

This is what I wrote about our ride. I don't know if it is still listed or not, but it was on the Iron Butt Association's website for a while...

BTW, if anyone else attempts anything like this and decides to use credit cards or gas cards for making payments, don't be surprised if they are deactivated by the bank because they think it is stolen. My wife and I had four cards deactivated while doing our SS1000. With it being a weekend, we had a heck of a time trying to get them activated while on the road.
