I have a 2007 Ducati Monster S2R.  This is my first bike and I ride daily to work.  A couple of weeks ago I was in a hurry on my way in to work and left the parking lights on for about 6 hours on accident.  I couldn't start the bike and had put it in third gear and push start it.  Everything seemed fine that day as I turned the bike off and on several times without any issues.  Due to circumstances I was not able to ride again for another 6 six days.  The bike started up fine but stalled when I put it in gear which had never happened before.  As I got out on the road the bike stalled a couple more times at stop lights..  The following day I was going to take the bike to the shop and it would start but then turn off.  I purchased a new battery and have charged with a battery tender but am still having issues.  The bike turns on but is still not right.  Will start but if I pull it up right off of the kickstand it shuts off.  Then when I put it back on the tender the red light on the tender turns on signaling the battery needs to be charged.  I have not changed anything on the electrical system on the bike.  Any ideas????

I checked all of the connections to and from the battery.  Checked the fuses.  The battery tender indicator was solid green (Fully Charged) started bike while connected to tender and the indicator started blinking green (More that 80% charged).  Weird all this started after leaving bike with parking lights on.

Do you have a meter to check battery voltage?  With battery losing voltage while running sounds like regulator/rectifier may have died.  You should have about 14vDC with bike running at battery if reg/rec is good.

I don't have a meter someone was telling me that the tender I have is not enough to charge the battery...  Gonna do a trickle charger.  Will get a meter tomorrow.

Charge the battery and get it load tested so you know for sure it is good.  Then check charging system output.  13.5-14-5 volts at 3K RPM.

Will do tomorrow..  Thanks

After charging battery with trickle charger got a meter.  Battery checked out at around 13 volts with bike off and 14 with engine running.  Lifted bike off of stand and of course when lifting turned bars to the right, bike turned off again.  Remembered reading another post very late last night about bike shutting off when turning right, turned out to be harness issue.  Checked under the bars and there are some exposed wires.  With bike running while on kick stand and bars leaning to the left, I can move the wire around and bike shuts off.  I will tape the exposed wires, with the plan of possibly replacing the harness.  Any pointers on doing that would be appreciated.  Thanks
