Has anyone seen this movie yet?  The previous one scared me, so, I'm reluctant to see this one unless I get some feedback :).  So, has anyone seen it?

I'm curious about this too. I've conflicting reviews...

I also read today that Ed Norton was pissed about the final cut of the film and isn't promoting it. He has been in Africa this past month. That can't be good, bit I guess that he always has been picky about his work, a perfectionist of sorts.

I give it a  [thumbsup] because at the very least I thought it was better than the last version. I also liked the angle of a monster movie feel rather than the overly dramatic approach of the previous version; it's fair to say that character development is less in the new version. That's not a fault; merely a different interpretation with a bit more edge and action this time around.

Just curious what was it that he didn't like in the final cut?

i watched Iron Man and Hulk back to back today.

Iron Man was effin awesome.  Hulk IMO sucked.  If I say why i'd probably give away a couple spoilers and I won't do that to ya.

That comment actually scares me  ;D  The last version was so bad this one could be better and easily be a stinker as well  :-\

How was RDJ as Iron Man in the Hulk  ??? since he was amazing in Iron Man  [thumbsup]

The rumor was that they cut out some of the character development scenes to increase the pace of the movie and that he was upset with that.

I have a friend that went to the Marvel screening.  He said it was a solid action movie.  It wasn't as good as Iron Man but wasn't a bad movie either.  It's your typical summer action movie.  Not a lot of plot, not a lot of character development, but a lot of fast paced action.  Most of the reviews I've read have said the same thing.  Don't go in expecting Shakespeare and I think you'll be ok.

I read a review the other day that was less than favorable. But it was written in a very entertaining way... it was in Hulk-speak...

Here's the opening...

"Hulk. Smash!" Yes. Hulk. Smash. Yes. Smash. Big Hulk smash. Smash cars. Buildings. Army tanks. Hulk not just smash. Hulk also go rarrr! Then smash again. Smash important, obviously. Smash Hulk's USP. What Hulk smash most? Hulk smash all hope of interesting time in cinema. Hulk take all effort of cinema, effort getting babysitter, effort finding parking, and Hulk put great green fist right through it. Hulk crush all hopes of entertainment. Hulk in boring film. Film co-written by star. Edward Norton. Norton in it. Norton write it. Norton not need gamma-radiation poisoning to get big head. Thing is: Hulk head weirdly small. Compared with rest of big green body.

Ed Zachery.

Ang Lee's version got too tied up with some wierd Oedipal complex on steroids.  Combine that with strange editing technique and slooooow plot development and you get a three hour sleeping pill.

This version leaves out all plot development for more smashy-smashy.  Which results in a rather hollow feeling to the whole movie.  Yeah, he's pissed off, but why should I care?  Liv Tyler looks too much like her father.  William Hurt can't hold a candle to Sam Elliot as General Ross.  Tim Roth's character doesn't seem evil, just obnoxious.  I also couldn't shake the idea of Delmar being a scientist.

Its not as good a movie as Iron Man and I expect neither to be in the same league as The Dark Knight.

147 reviews at rottentomatoes.com. Average rating is 65%. That says to me 'dvd rental only'.  [thumbsup]

I give it for out of five stars.
I thought it was awesome, very suspenseful and exciting. Norton did an awesome job, and i never once thought the CGI looked bad or overdone.
I say go see it in theaters and get the whole experience.

Ironman was better.

hollow was the best description i've read thus far.

i left going "ho hum", it was another monster/superhero movie.

it should have been better with ed norton, but it wasn't.

and i hated every scene with liv tyler in it.

KnightofNi

i was really hopeful that this verson wouldn't be the suckfest that was the last one. minly because of ed norton being in it. looks like i was wrong... :'(

i wonder how bad this version will do on insultingly stupid movie physics [cheeky]

I didn't think it sucked.  It just wasn't anything to write home about.  The visual effects were damn impressive, there just wasn't much to it beyond that. :-\
