On my 98 750, there is a site glass on the right side for the oil, whats the one on the left side for?

Flywheel I believe, the dots on it are somewhat useful for lining up your cylinders at top dead center.  Don't worry, it doesn't need to have visible oil in it..

that guy is totally wrong.

The one on the right is for oil. The one on the left is so you can see the flywheel. It has marks on it used for setting/confirming the timing and finding TDC. There isnt any oil required to be seen in it, though it will usually splash around some when its running.

Cool, I thought it was a little high to be able to see oil in it. I do however see it splashing around when it's running.
