It's like I keep saying:  Those who would sacrifice a free range session for a giant beer, deserve neither free range time nor a giant beer.

i have had guys reach back and grab my crotch in an attempt to get around me. i'll either blow in their ear or ask them politely to let go of my wang.

And to shit on your analogy, anti-bacterial soap is slowly being taken off the market since it's been found triclosan is an endocrine interrupter.  Kids who use it too much end up with premature facial hair and cancer.

Excellent response councilor, you really got me there.  Doesn't answer the question.  Let me change the analogy.  Would said parents be abusive if they let the kid outside with SPF 15 instead of SPF 75.

Second, I'm pretty sure they need to be cleaned quickly so they don't spoil.

I read on some website that people hang their deer for a couple days to let them get "gamier".  I know when you hang pheasants you keep their guts in.  Is that different with deer?

Yes.  Never heard of anyone not gutting a deer right away unless there was a logistical reason

+10000  on the swine flu LOL

and the video is OK.  I am sure there is a 0.01% chance the kid could have gotten a tick or rabies, but it was kind of funny, and probably educational for her.  I would not have let it go on as long as that dad did, but abuse - come on - not even close.

Rescued grey hounds are fine hunters - my neighbors always have 1 or 2, and they keep the rabbit population down.

I was trying to be good natured and funny with my reply.  Don't get testy :-)

Here was the answer to your comment:

A child doesn't know how to handle a dead animal, and the parents weren't instructing her to keep it away from her face, which they should have.

Who does that? First, who wants to pack out an un-gutted deer...way too heavy. You guys shoot them off the highway or something? Second, I'm pretty sure they need to be cleaned quickly so they don't spoil.

plenty of people.  bag them and toss them across the hood of your jeep and drive home.  that's why they make these:

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Personnaly, I found it encourqging that there are still parents in suburbia that are willing to let their kids explore the world outside whatever game console is currently hot.  The kid played, had fun, the dog had fun, the parents had fun, the kid got a bath.

Way back at the beginning I asked if you were kidding when you said this could be considered child abuse, and you defended your position.  Sorry if I then missed your humor.   [thumbsup]   ;D

I've never heard of anyone not field dressing their deer on the spot.  The sports will have the guide do it but no one (here) takes it to be processed not cleaned

I actually find it to be some what heart warming. The innocence of the little girl and the father who you can sense is somewhat sickened of it yet both parents allow for her to handle the critter. The whole disease issue is well,     not really a big deal in the grand scheme of things. Chances are she will come in contact with far worse items. The posters that say it's borderline abusive. WOW, you have led a sheltered life. Society needs to allow kids to experience these sort of things. It will make them well rounded individuals. If this is what warrants kids being removed from parental custody, then me and every one I know should have been placed in an orphanage.

That is interesting

Most folk I know gut ASAP to avoid "gamier" flavors

Back to the dead squirrel -

I cringed when the little girl was rubbing it all over herself, but...    an important question is how long has it been dead?

My perception of dead squirrels is stinking diseased roadkill like I see (and smell) while out riding.

I suppose if it was a fresh kill not much could happen unless perhaps it was rabid or something.

I have no comment other than I was really hoping when the dad zoomed in on the squirrel at the end the squirrel's eye would have glowed a dim red. Or maybe it could have raised one little squirrel finger ever so slightly. That would have been awesome.

Exactly what I was waiting for!  I thought it was all a joke..especially after the zoom in on the wife.  [laugh]

Alfisti..Fresh kill.  No rigamortis setting in yet.  No sign of maggots.  Pretty disgusting but it's a kid.  It did go on way too long though IMO.   :-X
