So I have my S4 in a far off country with no speed limits. It originally came with a windshield but I took it off and sold it a few days after owning it because i'm vain and I thought it looked cooler super naked.

Now i'm kicking myself because when i'm doing 100-120 for an hour or so, I'm pretty worn out since i'm holding on for dear life.  what i wanna know is this:

1.) How much does the stock windshield help? Now that i'm older and wiser, I think it looks great.
2.) Is there a better windshield that still looks as good as stock?

I run a zero gravity touring screen on mine with some poorducrider fairings stays and I quite like it.

yeah triple digits are tough with no shield.

but i've found that types of clothing and helmet affect it also.

when i'm riding with my textile jacket it pulls on me more, the leather 2 piece i slice through better.
also one of my helmets had a poor shape that really didn't slice through the air well.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Stock windshield is crap for wind protection at those speeds.

It will certainly be better than nothing.

I have tried 70+ both with and without the stock fairing. Without much more air hits on my chest even tucked with lower bars. With it and tucked it hits my shoie helmet more which has some Built in wind fins on the back and provides much less drag/resistance then my chest lol

I'd say yes there is a noticeable benefit at higher speeds. Personally I think it looks way better with it off but I keep mine on because it does make commuting more confortable.

we would like to know this far off country so we can ship our bikes and ride with you at those speeds.  [thumbsup]
if you get a fairing get the fairing stays, if anyone makes them anymore.  If you don't the fairing will flap like hell but rest assured the wind protection sucks, it's only there for looks.

[laugh] [clap]  I didn't catch that.  Pretty sure I know what he meant though [bang]

It wasn't a question of "if it was going to happen"

It was a question of "when it was going to happen"

Well guys, I tried tucking, only thing it did was get me invited to drag-bars.

I do have to hug the tank to get to 120mph, or else i'll fly away.  Have any of you guys tried the Dart Flyscreen?  I saw this picture of it here, and it looks pretty good..... but does it stop any wind?

They Dart works extremely well for it's size.  I am quite happy with mine.
