Consumer Complaint? I need advice

Let's make this as quick and easy as can be. Any advice is welcomed

First off, I'm not the type to complain about things. But I am feeling the urge to. I just need to know who to complain to. Ok here is the story...

So I bought a TV one day while I was taking a dump at work from Best Buy. Iphones are good for some things. I bought the extended 2 year warranty as well for no less than 70 bucks. Pick the TV up the next day. I was surprised that the young woman behind the counter knew nothing about HDMI cables other than some were more expensive than others. No shit. Take a stroll over to the printers with my father. When asked about the differences between printers, the young man began reading the specs on the boxes. Thanks man. We can read. The TV comes up and we go to load it into the truck. The young lad helping us load it had no idea whether an LCD tv could be laid down on it's back or not. Apparently 2 months wasn't enough time for him to learn his job... We take the TV home and it had dead pixels. Take it back the next day and have to point out to the "geek squad" tech where the dead pixels were. "Well here is one, there are 3 more, here are 3, and oh look! 2 more". Exchanged the TV for a new one (the same model) and continue on my merry way. Turns out that the TV didn't live up to my standards and so I decide to return it for my money back. Here is where it gets fun.

They take the TV back and refund the money immediately. They did however, have issues with my warranty refund. They told me that because I ordered it on the internet that I had to request the refund over the internet. Simple enough and no problem there. The young lady behind the desk forgets to give me my license back so I had to run back again the next day. Whatever. Shit happens right?

So I call and request the refund instead of doing it over the internet. I like talking to people and being able to ask questions. All seems to go well and the young man told me I should get a phone call or email in the next 3-5 days. Two weeks later....nothing. I proceed to call and see what is going on. The man on the line explains to me that it was sent to the wrong place for claims. Ok shit happens. Again. He also tells me that he can see that someone noticed that it went to the wrong place and took a look at the claim but didn't do anything about it. He told me this and that and blah blah and they only have so much of a credit line blah blah. I said "dude, it's only 70 bucks." He sends the claim to the correct place and assures me that I should get a call or an email in 3-5 days...

Here I am 2 weeks later and nothing. I have checked and nothing has been credited to my account. Now I'm pretty ticked off. All I want is my 70 bucks back and for Best Buy to make the beast with two backs off.

So getting back to the part where I said I don't complain a lot. I'm not good at it. I don't enjoy and certainly don't think that screaming on the phone is going to solve anything. What would be the best way to go about getting it through to them that I'm sick of it? Is there somewhere that I can file a claim for shitty service or anything at all that I can use as leverage to get what I want and get it now?

I guess I blew the 'keep it short' thing huh?

A noble suggestion however, the snow has melted and I wrecked my bikes long ago  [bang]

Walk into the shop once more, talk to the manager.
Tell your story slowly and ask if this is the way a customer must expect to be treated.
Ask for the name and contact info of his/her boss after the fifth song and dance about boring details from their side.

That usually speed things up.

I once got $60 for a taxi when I had to return to the shop where I got old and smelly chicken for my dinner [evil]

Hmm...

Well, in that case, how did you pay for it initially?

The problem is that they claim that nothing can be done in the store because I chose to order it over the internet while I was "building a log cabin"  :D

I have nothing of any substance to add other than that this has been my experience as well.  The cream of the crop aren't fighting for jobs at BestBuy... and I have always enjoyed the condescending tone from the pimply post adolescent rereading the box to me.

Credit card?

Just call them and open a complaint.  Tell them you returned the item and deserve all your money back.  Should be the end of it.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

I had a similar experience there and will NEVER shop in that shit hole again.  My suggestion is to send them an email and complain about the service and knowledge of that store.  Provide them details with names, times and so on.  I did this and within two days someone called me offering to not only correct my problem but send a $50 gift card.  They questioned me on Management at the store - sleazy pricks - and how I was treated.  Also, if you are a reward zone member send a message from their website as well.  Don't forget to mention that you will post on every internet forum you go to, that usually gets them fired up a little.   Anyway, good luck with those idiots.

DING!...that would have been my suggestion up front...and I would have told Best Buy people this on the phone, that they refund within 24 hrs or I file a dispute with my credit card company and let them deal with you on this issue...I would have told them this once they told you you had to jump through a 2nd hoop...sorry...but it isn't that hard...especially with the rest of the transaction on your billing record that backs your story.

Agreed! I had a roommate a couple years ago who went through a couple of months of stupidity with Verizon. Basically when we moved in she discovered there was no Verizon signal on our street. they agreed there was no service at the house and let her out of the contract without a cancellation fee, then a month later sent her a bill for the fee. She called and explained what happened and they said "oh, we actually see a note about that here! sorry, we'll take care of that for you." Repeat process 4 months in a row, culminating in a threatening letter saying they were going to send the account to a collections agency. She finally agreed to let me file a complaint for her on http://www.bbb.org/ and less than 20 minutes later Verizon called her and finally got everything straightened out at their end. Since then I've made it a personal guideline to file a complaint if a company fails to make good by the 3rd try, and so far it's worked like a charm.
