I like it.  Doesn't make me wanna run out and buy one just like, but I like it (though I'm with everyone on the grim reaper thing.  But if that's what the customer wanted . . . ).  

I know the customer didn't want a one-off frame, but I wonder if ya coulda taken the motor mounts continued them with a mini trellis 'til they met near the middle of the engine.  It'd look like a mini-Duc frame.  Actually, now that I think about it, that would prolly look like dogshit.  Forget I said anything.  

FWIW, Duck-Stew geared his bobber really tall.  The multiple times I rode it, the tall gearing worked really well with the Duc 900 motor.  It slowed it down a bit off the line (and was hell on the clutch on start n' stop San Francisco hills), but stock gearing would have had too much sportbike thrust and ruined a little bit of the hybrid bobbber/Duc feel.  It's an easy change, but it's something to think about.

The frame is a kraft tech. Originally made for a Harley type v twin. This bike is being built for a customer that wanted a ducati engine in a old school bobber type frame. The customer didn't want to pay for a one off frame. So we needed to make a mounting system that would hold the engine and give some rigidity back to the frame. There are not many options on how to mount this engine. We needed to make the mount removable so if the engine needed to be  removed for any reason it could be easily done. Its easy to say the mounts look like an afterthought but when you explore your options there are not many solutions that  are safe and strong enough. Also the reaper design was at the customers request.(not my choice) You can check the oil level very easy the sight glass is in plain sight when you get at eye level.

I build custom things (ginormous homes) myself so I am completely sympathetic to the fact that the guy writing the checks can completely (or partially) ruin what as otherwise a really great build. If you can't talk any sense into them all you can do is point to the great quality of the ugly POS you were forced to build.

Personally I like most of the bike. The parts I don't aren't that big a deal.

I like it more and more as I look at it. 

If it were mine:

1. Strip it down, blast, and repaint the frame, wheels, and bodywork in satin black.

2. Lose the clutch cover entirely, or go with one of the super-minimal ones made out of wire (which, chromed, would echo the wheel spokes to a degree).

3. Lose those timing pulleys in favor of more mechanical-looking, black-anodized machined billet units. Those in the pics are too froo-froo.
