Ducati has had a partnership with Tumi for a while now...though I do like some of the subtle updates done to the bags for the most recent release...

Nothing says douchebag at the airport quite like your Ducati luggage! waytogo
Think I'm gonna buy me the carry on duffle for $300 and the 25" expandable case for $600 just for the super douche look.

the regular tumi luggage is already at those price points.  the ducati part doesn't add any extra msrp amazingly.

I would use this maybe if I worked for Ducati...but my Ducati gear stops at hats and t-shirts.

Someone please explain how wearing a Ducati hat or t-shirt is any less douchey than having Ducati luggage?

Remember...the luggage isn't expensive because it's Ducati branded, but rather because that is what Tumi luggage costs...whereas that $50 Ducati shirt you're wearing is that expensive only because it says Ducati.

 Huh?

It just makes you that much more of a douchebag.

+1

I used to travel weekly and my luggage took a beating. I prefer Samsonite just because their hard cases were excellent. I don't mind paying slightly more for something that has proven to last, but I ain't paying no $300 for a carry-on bag unless it gives me a BJ every time I take it on the plane.

Because it's a t shirt and every company and their brother's company has a t shirt or hat. Going out of your way to buy luggage that's branded Ducati (unless you're traveling with the team), makes you look like the douchebag that buys everything Harley. AKA Harley douchebag of which there is an unlimited supply here in MKE!

I don't get the logic...promoting a brand is promoting a brand. Having a Ducati carry-on is no different than wearing a hat or shirt (which you had to go out of your way to find likely...and probably paid too much for as well since Ducati clothing is overpriced).

FWIW I have a KTM roller bag. It's an Ogio, not a Tumi, so it cost about 1/3 the amount. But it's a quality bag and it's easy to see at baggage claim when I have to check it, unlike the standard black roller bags that all look alike. I didn't "go out of my way" to find it...just saw it on a site, needed a new roller bag, so I bought it. Big deal.

The true douchebag is the guy that has a Ducati bag (or wears a shirt, hat, etc), but doesn't own a Ducati, or worse has never owned one. Same as the guy with a West Coast Choppers or OCC sticker on his truck, but doesn't own one or even ride.

Tri J is only a closet douchebag. Come out of the closet dude  Grin

I think there are 2 issues we're discussing here. 1) Would you pay a premium for a bag because of the brand name? 2) How much of a douchebag do you look when using things branded with a motorcycle name when the item has nothing to do with a motorcyle?

I think that if you build a hard case that can be attached to a Duc, then it makes sense. I would pay good money for a roller bag that can be used on my bike.

What if you buy luggage at Target and put ducati iron-ons on it?

I'll agree the bag is lame if the Ducati version costs more than the same non-Ducati version.

I'm a douche, I bought a ducati hat on ebay for $20 and a t-shirt at my local dealer (3 miles away from my house) for $25 while I was there picking up a part.

Now I just need to get the ducati wine, the ducati watch, the duacati cologne and the ducati luggage.  That will surely complete my package. Maybe that will upgrade me to Douche Nozzle!
