I see all that stuff (to me thats just bling bling), but what makes it a super light is my question. you still got a long ways to go. CF exhaust is lighter, CF wheels, CF fairings, CF tank. Magnesium side covers and valve covers. 520 chain with aluminum sprocket. ETI fuel cell... it can be much much lighter and most of those things are not readily visible.

Ducati used to make a superlight SS, and it didn't have any of that stuff.  I assume he's just following Ducati's precedent.

 [thumbsdown] bummer. When i think superlight, i think of the lambo superleggera. they went to hell and back with that thing trying to make it lighter.

it really just sounds like an 848S with some bling.

to be prefectly honest, the photo you see is an 1198R .. so imagine all it's components with an 848 motor

THAT would be a collector's item.

Why is that? Price? because i dont see one. Collectors item? I dont care to collect. Cool factor? i could care less.

If it was worth more than its MSRP sure, youd be a fool not to own one if it had everything u wanted. Or if you liked collecting bikes and what not, but eh. Whatever floats your boat.

And besides Raux is a liar its a 1198R with decals just like i said!!!!!  ;D

the 1098 looks sexy, but im the oddball, i like the 999 better.
