O.k sorry for putting a new topic...lol ;D

Monster 1995 m900 (corse special edition ...at least that what the guy told me at the store..lol)
I've just receive some clip ons that I ordered from Monsterparts    Yéééééé  [thumbsup] [Dolph] apex 50mm  ( i like the racing position and i accustomed to it )     whit no rise.....    http://www.monsterparts.com/pc/APEX1/Bars-Mirrors/APEX1.html

Looking at theses thing's I said to myself wow there pretty slim and the bolts are really small... :-\

I intend to install them below the upper triple tree is this a god idea???  Did anyone add issues whit those ( security)  ???   I mean, I know that I don't put most of my weight on them but will it hold?? [roll]

He Man

locktite and yes they will hold fine. I have them on my bike and went down at the track with them.

Josh Haynes's AMA Team was there and his mechanic had a file on hand (hell id be surprised if they didnt!)Ended up finishing off the edge to be smooth and went back out there the next session. Swapped the clip on tube for a new one when i got home. Clip ons are holding up fine.

Im just curious how you installed them under the triple. Most people have problems with that because they dont have a garage or proper tools to drop the front or have a hard time removing the triple...

ducatigirl100

Ok now i know that it will old ok now how do i put them on ..lol  ;D

actually, your photo is what I exacly want to do  ;D  but not enterely sure how they did it... I dont have the bike rigth now ( i'm getting it back maybe at the start of next week)     I'm probebly using the wrong term ...here

And what do you mean i have to have garage to do that ???
...it sem's to me that i only add to take the clip on bolt and put them togeter on the front shoks ???

Or I did my blond thing of buying stuff that dont work [bang]...lol ;D

He Man

nope, apparently i pulled the blonde thing and didnt realize that you have the 2 piece design.  :P
I have the risers ones that are 1 piece.

If you dont have the 2 piece design, then you have to drop the forks, or remove the top triple. The top triple requires some finesse to remove properly. But thats more info then you need to know cause you dont need to deal with that.

And when you mean "exactly" i hope you dont intend on laying the bike on its side! if you are going to do that, i highly recommend some proper gear.  ;D

ducatigirl100

Yess, i have the two peace desing   :)

and yess i did my blond thing becose the instruction where at the bottom of the box :-[

....   and no, i dont whant to drop it (never say never [bow_down])

thanks for all the advice... [thumbsup]

I'll erase the topic tomorow becose i'm to ashemed becose I add the instructions [roll] [bang] [laugh]...lol

see you on another topic soon :)

He Man

ahahaha, no need to delete the thread i think. its not that bad. Win still goes to Ms.Tek for flushing the key down her toilet. Sorry Ms.Tek  ;D

ducatigirl100

Ok i let it here but can we change the subject of the topic to " the stupidest I've done concerning my bike???"

;D [clap]

He Man

if this is the stupidest thing you've done, then you must be very smart. [beer]

Twizted

Stupid is when you spend 15 minutes trying to figure out why your bike keeps stalling then look down and realize your kick stand is down. Would have been ok if I was not parked in the city with about 30 onlookers

I installed these exact clip-ons on my 2002 M620 just about a month ago.  The installation is pretty straightforward (I also drilled the mounting holes for the controls and it's all holding up very well).  However, I did run into a couple of issues concerning fitment for the brake/clutch master cylinders.  My bike uses the coffin-style reservoirs and they took up too much space and hit the headlight brackets.  I ended up making a custom bracket out of aluminum strips to drop the headlight down a bit so the brake lines would clear.  I'm not sure if this will be a problem for your bike or not.

#10
that is a common problem with no rise clip ons, not just with apex. there are spacers designed to fix this issue.

http://www.monsterparts.com/p/ADAP/Clip-On+Spacer+Kit.html

youll also want to look into how to remove the grips, and at that, it might be a good idea to get new grips on because without an air compressor, its not that easy nor clean if you use some of the other methods.

and then you might want to reroute the throttle cable because its probably way to long now.

yea this doesnt stop. its just one big mess after another!

ducatigirl100

For me lowering the headlight + brackets  was a given  ( my brother a machinist, he told me that he will make the brackets for me :-* ..lol ;D)...actually I've tried to put the bars upside down but i add some clearance issue's  mainly it was the master cylinder from the clutch that was touching the triple head [bang]...that's the reason why I bought the clip on's. because I tough those Lever's reservoirs would be further and it would not touch the triple head.

As for the grip's I've inserted a screwdriver whit some kitchen soap and it when Right off [thumbsup] ....O.k. whit a little effort [roll] ;D

What is exactly coffin style reservoir??   :-\

Twizted

Coffin style reservoirs -

Pee cup style -

ducatigirl100

Ok, I have the pee cup style...without the pee [laugh]   but the coffin style photo doesn't show?? do you have another photo  because I'm very curious ?? :-\ :)

He Man
