Does anyone have any experience with LED brake light 'bulbs' like this?:

I am sick of changing the traditional bulbs when they blow and thought these could last a bit longer.

What do you think?

I'm using a tower LED bulb for the rear brake light similar to the one in the link, but I think the one I have has a few more LEDs.

Side by side, it's brighter than stock, brighter than the average LED board, and the light output is just as wide as it was with the standard bulb.

On a side note, here's an LED in the front parking light.

Hey DarkStar, can you post a link or provide manufacturer & part number for the LED bulb you put in?

I'm looking to do the same with the brake/tail on my Cagiva.  It has a single 1157 for the brake/tail, similar internal clearance as the Monster lens.  With dirt road vibes, I'm a little worried about losing either filament on my way to and from work.

Thanks!

For reference, here is one I was looking at from the same vendor as the OP:

Sorry I don't know the manufacturer, but...

Mine is the an 1157 with 30 red LEDs.

It has markings with a bicycle/motorcycle on the top.

It's overall length is about 2 1/16".

I just bought one for $6.00 on ebay. I'll let you know how it turns out!

Do you remember what number LED bulb you put in the front parking light, and where did you get it?

Cool, thanks. Just ordered one...

Howley

Well I got the 'bulb', ordered on ebay...

...and it's great! Quality looks great, shipping (to aus) was fast and cheap, and overall the thing was stupid cheap. It lights a lot like a traditional bulb only brighter, and isn't all modern looking like a full led board, it still has the nice glow in the centre of the lense like a bulb.

I'm stoked!!

Howley

PS that price is for two bulbs. As I said, stupid cheap.

How is the power draw? Any drawbacks?

LED power draw is significanlty less than a incandescent bulb.

Less power draw means more energy the regulator/rectifier has to burn off as heat.

Hm very interesting. Is that the same mod for ur headlight as well? No right?

I do have a HID in there, but it's off in the pic.  The pic of the headlight is with this bulb:
