SS tanks will leak at the hinge just like a Monster tank.

They also have the added feature of collapsing if the vent gets clogged due to the flat top.

The traditional Sportster tank, so no idea what he's referring to here. I assume the stock tank.

  my bike is a 2001 750  SS

the bike is a SuperSport for clarification...not a Monster, so it doesn't have a SBK tank, and while it is Steel, it probably ain't Stainless ( hence the SS that some may be refferring to).

maybe some are just responding the way they are to just simply say something, if for no other reason than to goad you into more off topic responses that have no bearing or meaning?

No really, what's a "peanut" (other than a Sportster tank)?

doesn't look like a peanut to me...maybe a walnut (in shell)...but not a peanut....but I guess that is up to personal interpretation when applying organic shapes to relate to industrial items...

I didn't know Italians grew peanuts, but if they look like my swollen and rippled S4RS tank, maybe they should stick to wine and pasta.

 Wink

But seriously, if I needed to come up with a nut that my tank resembles, it would be something else.

In any event, thanks for letting me know.  I had never heard that style of tank described as such.
