So...every since I purchased I have been racking my brain about where this instrument panel cover that came with my bike is supposed to go. I even asked the person at the dealer and they had no clue. After doing some research on here I realize it is what covers the wires if you take the wind screen off. Just did that tonight...and I like it much better off BTW. Next question...what are the 2 plastic washer looking pieces that came with the cover?? I couldn't for the life of me see how they would go on. I installed the cover without them and it seems fine.

Year and model, pics etc., might get you a quicker answer.
Woohoohoohoo! Two personal records! For breath holding and number of sharks shot in the face.

Shortly following the purchase of my 2011 M696 I removed the mini-fairing and installed the instrument cover as well.  When I removed the mini-fairing, I did not note 2 plastic washers.  There were 4 bolts which secured it to the instrument cluster via 2 brackets.  The screws necessary are 3mm in diameter and I used fairly short stainless steel ones.  The dealer did not supply the necessary (2) screws to install the cover and thus a trip to Fastenal was in order.  On my next order to Ducati I will probably order the proper ones...

The two washers fill the space left behind the large bolts when you remove the rear seat cover and reinstall the bolts for added bling.

Thanks elgallo73!! Huge help! Sorry I didn't specify my bike...new at this. It is a 2011 Dark Stealth 696...and yes I couldn't think of an original name for the forum. Lol
