European Alp Tour

I'm very fortunate  

Two weeks, 3.000 km - a little rain, but mostly dry roads.

GPS is a brilliant invention. So is an iPad with weather forecast.

GoreTex isn't waterproof when rubbed against a seat or tank, the Garmin Zumo battery connector isn't either....

I've tried to capture other object than just the scenery, but there are some mountain shots as well.

There are farm animals everywhere - luckily in encosed areas, not running around on the roads like in Norway

I'm in Norway, 1.000 + miles from the Alps, but cut short by ferry to, and train through, Germany. Two days of transportation each way.

I'm not sure it can be done, but I'd like to take my bike to the US by ship - touring and track days for a couple of months.
Health and bike insurrance might be difficult - will check.

Yes, it's great fun.

People tend to load their bikes with tons of luggage.
It looks and handles really bad, so I make a serious effort to minimize. Not very impressive as a fashion statement at night though...
I think we got more comments on our luggage than on our bikes - almost.
Still, Ducatis attract a lot of attention and other riders aren't able to hide their admiration. Their eyes say "one day...."

I slowed down the hairpin racing this year, focused on smoothness and probably learned more by doing so.

Lars it can be done.  I know a number of people who simply put their bike on a pallet and have it air freighted (sometimes on the same flight they fly on) to whatever destination.  Obtain a "dangerous goods" shipping certificate, pay their ransom and away you go.  The so-called Adventure Crowd have bee doing this kinda thing for years.  Check out Horizons Unlimited

look into taking a freighter across the atlantic. i bet its a bit less costly.
