countershaft seal?

Looks like the oil seal behind my front chain sprocket is weeping a bit of oil.  Hopefully this explains oil/dirt accumulation at the lower rear of the motor.

Now would be a convenient time for me to replace this seal.

Anyone have a tips on removal/installation?  Just pull it out with a hook and tap in the new one with lube on the lip and tape on the splined shaft?
