Looking at the service manual for my '07 S2R800 I noticed there's a Magneti Marelli logo on the photo.  My bike does not have this logo?  What gives?  I bought the bike used.  Is it possible that it could have been swapped out?

Post a pic of your gauge faces.

Perhaps the PO swapped 'em out.

I believed ducati stopped using magneti marelli and went with  siemens. I read that somewhere

Ah ok.  Thanks guys.  Maybe Ducati tried to save $$$ by not updating the manual then.

What gives is right... I'm usually on the DucatiMonster.org website, did not know about this one.  I was searching in Google, typed "Magneti Marelli Gauges" and was led here... In a nutshell, I believe yours was swapped out.  I have a 06' S2R 800 which I bought new with the Magneti Marelli guage.  Took it to this local dealer for upgrades after 2,000 miles, bar end mirrors, etc... Why did I return to hear him say, your Tach was idling at 1k, so we exchanged it since it was still under warranty.  I was heated... What bike doesn't idle past zero... and an idle problem doesn't mean that tach is broken.  And how can I have an idle problem on a brand new bike... To add insult to injury, they did not set my correct miles, the new Tach, which is the one you have now, and every other Monster, started at zero miles... Sooo, your bike could potentially have more miles on it than your Tach says if it was indeed swapped out.  As you can see by me still searching this and landing to this site, it still hurts to this day to know I was taken by a so called reputable dealer...  I just keep telling myself, the Magneti Marelli Tach was similar anyway, and Ducati has switched, so get over not having that rare logo on your bike...

Wow that sucks man.  What dealership was that?  Did they ever do anything to compensate you?

Oh and what year did you take it to the dealer?

The 2007 S2R 800 is listed on Ducati's website as having Marelling F.I. so that isn't the issue. A quick google search suggests some gauges have the logo and some don't.

Who cares...it's just a logo.  ???

The Siemens EFI is only on the 696 and later bikes.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

My 07 S2R1000 doesn't have the logo on the gauge but it's still Marelli fuel-injected. You have the correct gauges, the service manual just wasn't updated, that's all.

Thanks Triple J.  Can you send me a link to the page in Ducati's site?
