I am the VP of Development for a software company that blends CAD with CAE...  We are currently helping to simulate space conditions for the next Hubble telescope, helping to build the world's largest crane, helping to identify heat signatures for new vehicles...

sikorsky aircraft electrical installer and 'spark chaser'.

[laugh] I used to work for Sikorsky doing technical writing for international proposals.  A lot of people don't realize that CT's largest export is defense products.  Sikorsky, Pratt & Whitney, Electric Boat, GE, and others are all headquartered there.  I'm not sure where Singer went, but they used to be in Bridgeport.

Currently a gEEk.

Again, it's so awesome to see how diverse different communities are.  Everything from self-employed to blue and white collar workers.

[thumbsup] Can't spell 'Geek' without a Double-E, as we used to say when I was in engineering school (I'm an ME).

DUDE!!!  Nobody has heard that one before!  I'm always the first to say it to people.  I can't believe anyone else already knows that one.

There are 10 kinds of people in the world: those who understand binary and those who don't.

It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

I don't know if it's the field (geotech), engineering design (civil) in general, or just me...probably the latter.  :P I actually enjoy being on-site and being involved with things getting built.  Sitting in the office gets on my nerves at times though...as does dealing with the BS that goes along with large design projects (tech. memos and such).

What does an architectural engineer do?
