i like that there has apparently been enough of a study on floating shoes and feet to know that they are sorted by the currents and the wind.

otherwise, that's jsut creepy.

"All four were wearing socks and were in a running shoe," Linteau said.

Four right feet, one running shoe. There's yer problem right there.

Does remind me of a story from at least a decade or so back; Nike lost a couple of containers of shoes off a ship bound for the Port of Portland and for months afterward, Air Jordans and nice (if a bit sea weedy) running shoes were littering Oregon & Washington beaches, and there was at least one website devoted to reuniting that size 9.5 Air Pegasus right shoe you found off Yaquina Head with its solemate.

Ebbesmeyer said it may not be a coincidence they were found in the same area. He said left shoes and right shoes often tend to wash up at different times at different places because they float differently.

He added that there are beaches that collect mostly rights and others that collect mostly lefts because the winds or currents sort out left and right foot wear.

Ebbesmeyer speculated the feet belong to people who have disappeared while out on the water.

Ummm.... what are you smokin' there, Ebb?

Umm..who gave this guy a degree?!   [roll]

I heard about all the severed feet about a month ago.

The sis & brother-in-law were in town visiting and then went to Vancouver for a wedding.  While there, they were walking along the beach and found a handgun.  Bro-in-law calls the local authorities who then proceeded to act like the friggen Keystone cops.   [roll]  They said they would call him back, said they would come talk to him, lost his number, said they would get his statement, said they wanted him to take them to the location, etc.  All of which never happened!!   ??? ??? ???  He went back the next day and the gun was still there.  He just said screw it!  [roll]

I thought they were on top of things up north?

Velcro attached feet obviously. Mine fall off all the time.

If you want to find the people that they belong to, just look for someone walking in circles to their right side.  [thumbsup]

I could see that.  Maybe the person doing it is becoming more unhinged and is subconsciously trying to get caught so getting sloppier.

of the first few feet were indeed from plane crashes or people who were left out at sea, and he just had someone he wanted to kill.
